VIMOB Valle del in Cauca, Colombia by Colectivo Creativo Arquitectos

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015

Article source: Colectivo Creativo Arquitectos

VIMOB was born from the notion of creating a shelter in an area of difficult access; a place where building a traditional construction would be limited by transport of materials and labor. It is a modular housing solution, based on the concept of prefabrication and assembly, capable of holding the essential space of a traditional construction in a practical, flexible, attractive and modern prototype. It is structured from carefully studied modules, articulated with harmony and sobriety in a cozy atmosphere, allowing the enjoyment of the environment and providing an image of high standing.

The site is located in a quiet residential area of Tokyo. The client is a couple who both work at a university. Uponplanning the residence, their request was to keep two independent and equal private dens, and to provide an open living environment while maintaining their privacy.A courtyard and a front yard are placed on the south and the north and spaces are located symmetrically. Tuesday, December 1st, 2015

Article source: Ellenamehl architects

Located at the center of the Saint-Jean district, on the high plains of Beauvais, the “House for Solidarity” is located on the former Agel military base. Erected after the 1870 war, this 12 hectares former military site has been a wasteland since 1993, pending an ambitious urban project. The renewal of the district, that is now well underway, aims at creating urban continuity, opening up the area to the city, reducing social problems with new equipments, a wider range of dwellings and local services.

The Mango House in Alibaug, India by Puran Kumar Architects

Tuesday, December 1st, 2015

Article source: Puran Kumar Architects

The Mango House is the physical manifestation of a quest to connect with the natural environment. The essence of design here is simplicity in thought and expression through the form, material and décor of the structure. The organic nature of the construction successfully connects the outside with the inside and thus manages to convey an earthy feel through its free-flowing plan. The house is a blend of various elements & building materials that are ‘azonic’, lending simplicity to the design.

Esker House in San Candido, Italy by Plasma Studio

Tuesday, December 1st, 2015

Article source: Plasma Studio

Esker Haus (Esker = Stratified geological formation) is a self-contained residential unit placed on top of an existing house from the 1960s. The project has been developed as a parasite which adopts the structure of its host and gradually distorts it to fit a unique organization and morphology. The apartment is formed by a series of steel and timber frames that deform to recreate the smooth hillsides of the surrounding Dolomites. This partly accessible roofscape also determines the spatial character inside; the spaces unfold through a series of angular and dynamic planes creating ever-changing perspectives and spatial constellations.

Saturday, November 28th, 2015

Article source: MIDE architetti

The project site involves an old country house, built in 1887 in the immediate neighborhood of Lucca and a most recent farmhand’s cottage. The buildings are integrated in the countryside of Lucca and maintain its typical characteristics.Specifically, the buildings are located in a hilly landscape, between gentle slopes, where oaks and chestnuts lick the property. In this background, the renovation has been directed to both the maintenance and the enhancement of typical elements of the local architecture, such as exposed brick wall, stone of Matraia and chestnut wood.Pursuing this goal, and in full respect of the typical features, the components and materials used have been revised in a contemporary way, adopting the most appropriate construction techniques, in order to ensure the achievement of the best possible result.

Article source: MSWW Ministerstwo Spraw We Wnetrzach

Grand Oak House is a story in which a key role was played by the beautiful oak wood … Wood left a legacy by his grandfather … That it set the tone for the color and mood of meaning to the interior. Table of Elements woodwork and many other furniture – stores the memory of the people and the time that is behind us. And the contemporary environment of concrete, steel, gray and patterns subtly interacts with the past enchanted in oak jars. There does not end with reference to nature; both bathrooms and bedrooms are continuing a dialogue with nature. Forest, meadows and animals remind us of the continuity of our natural heritage.
