Rooftops – Twin House H in Bozen, Italy by bergmeisterwolf architekten

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017

Article source: bergmeisterwolf architekten

The gabled roof, the rooftop and the roofing of the windows were the central topics of the design. the natural and architectural surroundings were the inspiration for the rooftop. the mountain tops – the backdrop of the house – and the traditional farmsteads that characterize the area are abstractly cited and interpreted in a new way in the architecture. a parallel floor plan allowed for two houses under one roof. the two different apartments, planned for two sisters, are designed to let nature and the surroundings in. all of the windows were placed according to the views they offer, and the gardens are mirrored in the loggia on the ground floor as well as on the rooftop terrace, nestled between the rooftops. any open spaces are protected from the strong winds distinctive for this area. the loggias are located deep in the buildings, and the rooftop terrace is protected by an elongated piece of façade. the building interacts with its surroundings; the old stone wall is incorporated in the design. the two materials – cinderblock and brownish-black wooden slats – interact, illustrating the duality found on the inside.

Located on the top of a large site overlooking Mimico Creek, this 3 storey family dwelling features a central corridor and stairway that connects the interior spaces as well as the exterior views to the creek and ravine. Programmatically the corridor separates the utility spaces, garage and mudroom, from the main living spaces. Open riser stairs and wooden screens allow for dynamic views in out and of the house. The main plan begins at the street side with a private dining room, open kitchen and lowered living room with floor to ceiling south facing glass and patio access. The patio has a retractable rain screen, sun shading, and connects to a BBQ area off the kitchen. The basement offers storage, guest room, gym, and recreation room. Home – White line in Almaty, Kazakhstan by nravil architects

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

Article source: nravil architects

We like to make the house as simple as possible and at the same time interesting. The building is located in a landscape of unique beauty. The main goal was to develop the project without harming the natural landscape. The exterior of the house is conceived, that would look different from different sides and due to this you can enjoy the view of a non-repetitive exterior. Appearance and interior support the same color, emphasizing the severity and unity of the house. Panoramic energy-saving windows from both sides of the house evoke a feeling of complete openness and privacy with nature. The glass has a reflective property from the outside to reflect trees and clouds, so the house merges as much as possible with the surrounding environment. You can go on the balcony in the morning to drink coffee, enjoy a panoramic view of the horizon and fresh air.

Roteta House in Donostia, Spain by peña ganchegui y asociados

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

Article source: peña ganchegui y asociados

The particular attributes offered by the plot shape the house: Its level 3 meters above the street, the astonishing layered rock wall at the bottom of the plot, the beautiful existing palm, and the presence of two car-parks located South and West of the plot. All of them have been, along with the orientation (N-S, following the elongated form of the plot) and the program of needs (a house for a two-children family), determining factors in the Roteta House formalization.
