The whole project was meant to provide an intimate environment in a densely populated area relying on energy and resource efficient eco-design. The five houses share a private road, a courtyard that is divided into smaller units, an indoor swimming pool and a wonderful SPA area. This creates a unique mix of public, semi-public and private spaces that beautifully enhance dwellers’ sense of community and closeness to nature.

The house is located in a peaceful neighbourhood called La Cañada, Valencia. The plot is rectangular-shaped, placed in the corner of two main streets and with two boundary walls towards neighbours.
The main idea of the project is making up a building with two clearly distinct volumes, in shape and materials, which are related within themselves by emptying them as a sculpture, using patios and double heights.

The biggest asset of the parcel located in the suburbs of the city of Tychy is the surroundings of farmland and forests. The area is weakly urbanized and has a typical rural character. The parcel has a view over open space and characteristic farmyard buildings.

Avoiding social interaction yet allowed wide possibilities of contact with nature is the core aim of this project.
The owners wanted to keep the house as the private meeting hub for the big family, rather than for hospitality purpose. There was no hunger of connection with the neighborhood.

Thanks to the semi-desert climate of the state of Querétaro we were able to use local materials and traditional construction methods to achieve the micro-climatic conditions that —together with a modern aesthetic and notion of the current space— resulted in a place where elements bring together an enviable atmosphere. Juan Carlos Loyo Arquitectura is concerned about the environment and always makes sure their projects contain native materials as feedstock, on this occasion constructing an extraordinary house that connects perfectly with the climate and environment of the site.

The approach of the house was oriented to provoke a contemporary design with a typical gesture of the place, retrieving handmade work and the identity of the city of Xalapa. The special requirement of the client was that the house had to be very illuminated with natural light and to use local materials.

The entrance to C57-4 building is through a lobby with restrained design highlighted with details in wood and forge welcoming the inhabitants and leading them towards the vertical circulations formed by lifts and service staircase. In the interior of each floor, all of the units structural level was reconditioned to generate wide corridors dominated by an inside patio —that works also as a meeting point and relaxing area— with a red brick carpet down the shade of a tree.

The Reserva House is a unifamiliar house, located in a gated community near São Paulo megalopolis, in the industrial city of Jundiaí. The idea of the Project consists in promoting the Family gathering. Its lower floor is a social open space that looks outside to the tropical garden that surrounds the building. The large span slab creates big spaces without partitions. It was used a reinforced concrete grid structure system, not very common in unifamiliar houses, that gives an industrial signature to the construction.
