Article source:  Atelier rzlbd

The project is located on the southern edge of Lansing, which is a small neighbourhood in the North York municipality in the Greater Toronto Area. Thorax House is a minimalist two-storey wood structure that carefully responds to the needs and lifestyle of the client whileit has not forgotten the basic logic, plan and simplicity of the bungalow it replaced: the new project sits exactly on the small foot-print of the one-and-a-half storey bungalow that had occupied the site.

Sunday, September 13th, 2015

Article source:  Archier Studio

Description

The Sawmill House uses large reclaimed one tonne blocks of reclaimed concrete which anchor it into the landscape and a dynamic active building envelope to regulate the internal environment. The dwelling is a hand crafted upgrade from an existing rather rustic, bohemian abode, befitting a regionally based sculptor.

Article source: y+M design office

The house is for a family of four, married couple and their children.

Their parents’ house is located on the north side of their ground. So we arranged their low-rise house on the south side. The arrangement provides an open space which ensures adequate insolation and ventilation against the parents’ house. The open space is also used for easy communication with the parents and it keeps good relation among them.

House in Pakse, Laos by Makoto Yamaguchi Design

Thursday, September 10th, 2015

Article source: Makoto Yamaguchi Design

The project site is located in the town of Pakse, Laos, on an estate overlooking the Mekong River. It is one of the three huge buildings of classical European style, which had been designed and built a few years ago by a Thai architect as the residence for a certain family. The subject building was for the daughter of the family, our client, who requested that we provide the interior design for her residence. She wished for a contemporary and simple motif in contrast with the exterior.

LOW BUDGET BRICK HOUSE in Bisamberg, Austria by TRIENDL UND FESSLER ARCHITEKTEN ZT OG

Wednesday, September 9th, 2015

Article source: TRIENDL UND FESSLER ARCHITEKTEN ZT OG

The clients wished for an inexpensive house with a maximum of spatial qualities. The volume was conceived as a introverted courtyard typology, responding to local development structures. The shut roadside facade expresses the desire for a private retreat on the outskirts of Vienna. The L – shaped floor plan offers diverse spatial relationships and creates an exciting space continuum around the patio together with garage and workshop. The double high kitchen forms the heart of the house and the covered terrace forms its generous continuation to the outside. The workshop may be expanded to a small apartment in connection with the upper floor. The monolitic structure consists of 50 cm thick monolithic brick walls and ensures an optimal indoor climate without additional insulation.

House on the Horizon in Poznań, Poland by JABRAARCHITECTS

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

Article source: JABRAARCHITECTS

House on the Horizon near Poznan is a typical family house that has \”something more\” than a typical project. In a small surface of the building with double garage, designed T-shaped, there is comfortable space for a family of three or four. Living area (135 m2) consists of kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms, a guest room (optional third bedroom), toilet, bathroom . A small area is organized very comfortably – day and night zones do not interfere with each other, and individual rooms with large glass panels give a sense of space and contact with garden.

Sunday, September 6th, 2015

Article source: Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates

When I came for the first time on this project site, the whole site was covered in the shade. Because there is a 6-story apartment complex is built in the site south side. I propose this project about a relation with the natural light in the shadow place.
