DEGW has created a mix of “100% made-in-Italy” interior spaces for Microsoft inside Herzog & de Meuron’s iconic building, all designed in accordance with the firm’s corporate values: openness, visibility, flexibility, energy, dynamism and innovation.
DEGW’s project is part of a process Microsoft Italia has been undertaking for years in the name of a “New World of Work”, an approach to the dynamics of work that involves greater staff flexibility in terms of smart working and the use of functional and technologically innovative spaces to maximise cooperation. Well-being and the reconciling of personal and professional requirements are the linchpin around which time management and this new way of working revolve, making flexibility an important means of hitting targets.

On a corner plot of the former Uhlan barracks in the Derendorf district of Dusseldorf stands the building ensemble Clara & Robert, by slapa oberholz pszczulny architekten, which links the two new buildings with the historical Saarhaus.
The Wilhelmine barracks, erected in 1890 and currently among the largest remaining barracks facilities in the Rhineland, were given new life through comprehensive renovation and expansion. The Clara & Robert office complex builds on the location’s architectural history, while the preservation of the expressive Saarhaus, which is being integrated into one of the new buildings, restores the link to the former barracks.
The Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) traded its Westmount offices for a building that is better suited to their needs in Montréal’s Angus Technopôle. The city of Pargas is developing the area of the existing guest harbour in the southern centre of the city – Malmstrand beach – into an attractive living room for the inhabitants as well as a high class harbour with services. At the end of 2016 the city invited three teams to develop a long term vision for the harbour front. The assignment was to find a logical and natural, but at the same time an innovative solution for how the area could become a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment. Together the functions and activities were supposed to create an inviting entity that strengthens the character of Pargas small scale cityscape, while at the same time emphasizing its maritime identity. The proposals were to introduce a solution for how to the functions, such as a hotel. harbour office, sauna, beach promenades, playgrounds, car parking and beach could be integrated into a coherent and strong entity.
Apple today announced that Apple Park, the company’s new 175-acre campus, will be ready for employees to begin occupying in April. The process of moving more than 12,000 people will take over six months, and construction of the buildings and parklands is scheduled to continue through the summer.

This project is named “La Part des Anges”. It is intended as a colorful sculpture offering a landscape changing over its course. The signal tower located at the center of the parcel, around which void and filled areas alternate, participates in the will to create a strong gesture, a signal, aimed at energizing a developing sector. The project consists of 4 blocks located around the 15 story tower.
