Tuesday, May 18th, 2021

Article source: EskewDumezRipple and Wolf Ackerman

Envisioning multiuse space for entrepreneurs, designers, and developers, and additional ground floor retail, the new 215,000-square-foot Center of Developing Entrepreneurs (CODE) will act as a connective ligature between the institutional, commercial, and the historic avenues of the city. The project will feature an open-air, pedestrian gallery that will promote public circulation from the Mall to Water Street. This will be a dynamically engaging new approach to the west end of the Mall. At the center of the site, there will be an exterior courtyard with a sunken water feature and amphitheater for public and private outdoor events. As the building steps up from the Mall to Water Street, you will glimpse a series of planted rooftop terraces. Each of these outdoor terraces will serve as work and gathering spaces for tenants on each floor and provide panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Field in Xiamen, China by TEAM BLDG

Saturday, May 15th, 2021

Article source: TEAM BLDG

The project is located at the former site of an aluminum factory in Huli District, Xiamen City. The building was originally a public bath of the factory. In 2019, the building was also partially renovated after the aluminum factory was transformed into a creative office park with multiple business forms, such as bars, basketball arena, and live-streaming space. This time we were commissioned by the Buddha artist Jiang Sheng to renovate the building into a new studio and exhibition space called “The Field”.

The word “Elysium” originates from Buddhism, meaning the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss or Sukhavati, but “THE FIELD” is not intended to be an isolated pure land. The owner hopes to abandon the concept of “isolated and unreachable” and create an attractive spiritual place.

This project involves the heavy restructuring of a corner building located at the junction of rue Thiers and rue Carnot, in the heart of the historic center of the city of Vannes.

The existing building, R+2 plus attic, was a bank that we transformed into offices for Groupe Giboire. The aim is to set up a new commercial and real estate development agency. The location of the project is remarkable, close to the port, it is backed by the city walls dating from the 4th century.

The 11th of March marks the press conference for Aedas-designed IM Shanghai — a cultural complex premised on the grand unveiling of a mountainous cityscape.

The development, located at the intersection of Kaixuan Road and Huaihai West Road of Changning District and conveniently accessible via MTR Line 10 at Hongqiao Road Station, is adjacent to the Shanghai City Sculpture Art Centre, and Redtown Art District. The site is not among any of the CBDs in Shanghai. Thus, a primary and key purpose of the development is to drive business value by attracting tenants and consumers as it integrates with the surrounding context.

MAX in Tel Aviv, Israel by Studio Luka

Thursday, May 13th, 2021

Article source: Studio Luka

We worked together with Max’s marketing team and D.S. Blay Architects to create the language and design for their 7-floor office complex. Our goal was to create a different and innovative design for each of the floors based on the company’s branding book language. We chose a material for each floor symbolizing the type of work of each department. For example, for the HR department we utilized fabric, which symbolizes human connection. We decorated meeting rooms, phone booths, a large cafeteria, and incorporated motion graphics on the first floor to give a first impression of innovation and technology. In summary, seven floors of cutting edge, fun and inspiring environmental graphic design.
