Flipkart offices is a mixture of culture and color. The Indian based company offices in Tel Aviv consist of a mixture of different materials and elements to give it a homely feel.

The brick wall is a distant memory of the first days of the company in New York, The wooden chairs and eclectic elements in the kitchen are memories of the Jaffa markets and the old historic Tel Aviv.

The work area is open planned and is very spacious. Around the workspace are open-seating nooks, lounges, and closed booth areas. The graphic walls complement the overall eclectic feel.

A design practice built on the philosophy of “simplicity and honesty”, Studio Chintala begins each project by asking what it means to its users and the context. With the aim to create spaces and experiences that discover the soul of the project, the function and the emotions of the people that interact with it. The studio believes that design is problem-solving, the process of finding the simplest and most logical solutions. Axel Springer Campus in Berlin, Germany by OMA

Wednesday, November 18th, 2020

Article source: OMA

Axel Springer has launched a move from print to digital media. Its new building on the campus in Berlin acts both as a symbol and a tool in this transition – a building to lure the elite of (Germany’s) digital Bohemia. Bisected by a diagonal atrium that opens up to the existing Axel Springer buildings, the essence of the design is a series of terraced floors that together form a ‘valley’ that creates an informal stage at the centre – a place to broadcast ideas to other parts of the company.

Magok Hive in Seoul, South Korea by In-cheurl Kim + Archium

Monday, November 9th, 2020

Article source: In-cheurl Kim + Archium

The structural format from the “Magok Hive” is the same as “Urban Hive”, which is own designed in 2008. By combining columns and beams diagonally, it created a structural wall in which the flow of gravity came down straight and removed the gap between the stress lines. When a glass-wall that divides the interior is separated from the structural wall, the structural wall can be an exterior skin. This method is based on the principle from the Korean traditional building, “Hanok”. In the case of “Hanok”, there are the exterior skins behind the wooden structure. It can be applied at modern structural system, reinforced concrete.
