For Tolleson, a nationally recognized branding and creative agency, relocation to 560 Pacific in San Francisco’s Barbary Coast represents the third iteration and evolution of its studio space in partnership with Huntsman Architectural Group and Design Workshops.  Formerly the home and showroom for the Amtico flooring company, this two-story masonry and timber warehouse embodies many of the rustic characteristics found in Tolleson’s earlier offices, .such as exposed brick walls and wood trusses, wood floors, and skylights.

Red Rock HQ in Sydney, Australia by Rolf Ockert Design

Design Statement

In 2011 we were approached by a client we had built a house for to design the new office for his company. In his opinion the house we had designed for him is still “the best house in the world” and he expected nothing less for his new office fit out. Indeed the only design brief other than the number of workstations to be accommodated was that it had to be “funky”.

VIGOSS Textile – Showroom and Design Office in Istanbul, Turkey by Zemberek Design Office

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013

Article source: Zemberek Design Office

By reason of cooperation between two major textile companies, the necessity  of a new design office with additional showroom for guest designer team is revealed in existing manufacturing building of the host company. Approach of the architectural team, according to the demand was,  creating a perception of “non-belonging” in the space, to highlight the difference between existing function and the new one, also maintaining the balance, between; using the attractive and colorful interior workspace as a showcase, and preserving the privacy of the designers. Another demand  that shapes the concept was  a multi-functional area which serves as a design office and a showroom.

Architectural team aimed to meet all demands with a single shell.
