The European Council and Council of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium by Philippe SAMYN and PARTNERS architects & engineers

Saturday, September 24th, 2016

Article source: Philippe SAMYN and PARTNERS architects & engineers

As a consequence of 2004 European enlargement, the Justus Lipsius building becomes too small for the council of the European1 (hereafter named the Council). According to the treaty of Nice, adopted in 2001, all European Council2 sessions are held in Brussels, which also generates new real estate needs. In order to respond to those, the Belgian State offered the Council to cede block A from the complex “Residence Palace” to make it the future seat of both the European Council and the Council, once this building renovated and adapted to its future owners’ needs.

KuBe House of Culture and Movement in Frederiksberg, Denmark by MVRDV and ADEPT

Friday, September 23rd, 2016

Article source: MVRDV

Today Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark will open the Ku.Be House of Culture and Movement, an activity hub in Frederiksberg, Denmark, which explores the boundaries between culture, health and movement. The project, designed by MVRDV and ADEPT, is the first of its typology; a community space which also focuses on exploring and developing our most fundamental process, movement. Ku.Be facilitates both fixed, and spontaneous programmes. Main volumes define specific tempos of activities, whereas voids are left without a defined use to let users interpret them how they wish and discover new ways to use and get around the building. The activity from inside then spills out into the community as a garden which will offer a variety of interactive environments.

Thursday, September 22nd, 2016

Article source: Bmrg arquitectos

The BUDASIS office is located on the seventh floor of a new office building, located in a traditional residential neighborhood of Santiago, that with the construction of a new underground station it is in a process of incorporating new land uses.

The configuration of the original free space, which was almost square proportions, leaving in the center this space a place that possibly could have been very dark, so the proposal chose to avoid the compartmentalization of offices and transparency prevail.

6th Floor Rear Flat|Future Town Office in Guangdong, China by C.DD

Sunday, September 18th, 2016

Article source: Sunshine PR

The project name takes the same name of a HK movie, which is about chasing dream. For the owner, this name stands for youth, vitality, mutual-aid and dream.

The owner has a strong desire for communication, so he requests that the design style of the whole office space should be communication-encouraging, funny and informal, and he hopes the boundary between working and living within this space to be weakened. Thus, the designer takes container as the design concept, through using industrial elements such as cement, handmade decorative tile, white cement brick and black iron creates an office space full of fun.  A wall painting with a big smile warms everybody’s heart and tells everyone to smile to life.
