House project in Building No. 67 of Zhengkai Olive City, China by Shenzhen Qianxun Decorative Art and Design Co., Ltd.

Friday, November 3rd, 2017

Article source: Shenzhen Qianxun Decorative Art and Design Co., Ltd.

Life is a kind of experience.

There are two kinds of people who have rich experiences. One prefers addition, this kind of people have childlike innocence and great attachment to objects. Each of their collection stands for a memory and a mood. The more the collection they have, the more fulfilling and productive life they live. The other one prefers subtraction, with the increase of experience, they become more gentle to people, but stricter to themselves. Knowledge, principles and tastes, all have established stable and clear boundaries through the years.

La Géode in Montreal, Canada by ADHOC Architectes

Thursday, November 2nd, 2017

Article source: v2com

ADHOC architects team is proud to present the recently completed project “La Géode”, carried out in cooperation with the young promoters of Knightsbridge. The project is located on “de la Roche” Street, in the neighbourhood of Le Plateau Mont-Royal, a vibrant district with an exceptional urban vitality. In the light of its situation, the project aims to give a new breath to its plot with a contemporary residential building of five housing units. It should intend to reflect all the energy of this strategic sector where young professionals mix with families and couples. Thus, the project has to be a soft densification that fits into the current urban landscape without distorting it. One of the concerns is to keep families in the city by creating a quality living environment based on a green strategy.

MaisonA is nestled on the side of the hill on the plot. The building is discreet, but its pure lines show great strength of character. The materials used are contemporary, but the whole fits in perfectly with the protected site. The main materials PietriArchitectes used a wood and white concrete.

MaisonA, it is a simple volume built in integrally coloured concrete, with wooden shutters, set over a base anchored in the hillside.

The high demand for student housing is the reason for the initiation of this new development on the edge of Bielefeld’s city centre.  It was only in 2009 that a new land use plan was approved for this area, prescribing two-story detached houses with sloping roofs for this location on a narrow building plot. Following on from this, the draft provides for the establishment of four detached houses, each with two floors and a stacked storey.

Patio House in Velp, the Netherlands by Bloot Architecture

Wednesday, November 1st, 2017

Article source: Bloot Architecture

In Velp, the Netherlands, a sustainable refurbishment and extension of  a dilapidated 1950s villa has been completed.

The villa is situated on the edge of National Park Veluwezoom, a nature reserve. The many small rooms of the original house have been reduced to a small number of light and spacious spaces and a concrete extension with patio was added to the house. Although the various living spaces are in open connection with each other, the separate rooms retain their own intimate atmosphere.
