Article source: OLARQ OSVALDO LUPPI ARCHITECTS

In this design, the characteristics of the plot, located in a consolidated residential urban fabric have played a key role.

In a search for privacy and views to the sea, the starting compact volume is broken up to open up a courtyard.

A complex series of transparencies, reflections and long views across the patio strengthens the continuous presence of endless spaces.

520 West 28th in New York by Zaha Hadid Architects

Monday, May 7th, 2018

Article source: Zaha Hadid Architects

There is a powerful urban dynamic between the streets of New York and the High Line, a layered civic realm that has developed over generations and in many iterations. 520 West 28th conveys this contextual relationship, applying new ideas and concepts to create the latest evolution of the site’s rich history.

The split levels of the design define varied living spaces and echoes the multiple layers of civic space on 28th Street and the High Line.

Article source: Elmor Arquitetura

From the restinga to the intervention plan, the project for a single-family residence in Atami has as its starting point in the invitation to bonding. From the demands for design, moments of relaxation in the family topped the list of problems to be solved; Perhaps, if not for sure, this justifies the four suites that compose the superior volume of the residence that still contains a spacious Master Suite.

The design of this house focuses on giving an accurate answer to the client’s search for privacy together with our desire to create open spaces.

Two neat white volumes emerge from the terraced base in pursuit of great views on the Mediterranean Sea; meanwhile, the lower level establishes a more direct relationship with exterior areas.

Thong House in Saigon, Vietnam by NISHIZAWAARCHITECTS

Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Article source: NISHIZAWAARCHITECTS

“The perceived quality of life in buildings should come from the geometry and how that geometry connects to human beings”. It was the initial thought we had when being offered to design a row house in Phu My Hung, a new urban development area in the Southern Saigon. This project could be considered as another attempt to find a contemporary living manner in row house typology. The brief was to get rid of the way of living we used to have in common town house, where the staircase in the center along with the corridor to access spaces covered by four walls which isolate people inside his own world. The client is a nuclear family, consisted of the parents and two kids with the explicit wish to have a home fulfilled with natural elements while being able to improve the spiritual connection between each family member.

SKI home in Madesimo, Italy by ES arch enricoscaramelliniarchitetto

Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Article source: ES arch enricoscaramelliniarchitetto

The development of the architectural project has determined the construction of a building that combines a unitary image with an articulated arrangement, determined by external factors (distances, constraints). The trend of the perimeter walls adapts to external constraints, the smallness of the land does not allow to define geometrically determined trends. Starting from the given perimeter, through a series of minor corrections, orientation corrections and consolidation of rotations, a plant has been determined that is repeated on the first floor, except for small differences. The articulated plant does not have the possibility to determine the course of the ridge on geometric bases. It is in terms of volume that there have been various trends in the ridge and the pitches, in order to create an elegantly articulated volume, without poignant elements.

M14 House in Calvià, Spain by OLARQ OSVALDO LUPPI ARCHITECTS

Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Article source: OLARQ OSVALDO LUPPI ARCHITECTS

The existing house undergoes a significant transformation in order to clarify its layout.

The proposal presents a straight-lined design that enhances the idea of an abstract shape. The façade overlooking the street is a flat and opaque surface, while the one towards the sea is a double loggia.

From the entrance on the first floor one can reach the private zone and descend to the public areas on the ground floor.
