In this project we search to construct a fluid space that projects diverse memories tracing back to childhood places, haciendas, patios, and country houses; by uniting these multiple experiences we gave way to an assembly past elements with a purely contemporary perception.

Yuhua • Phase IV ShowFlat in Henan Province, China by FAN Life

Wednesday, December 6th, 2017

Article source: FAN Life

Being elegant and dignified is not only a matter for a small number of elites, it is the common responsibility and mission of the general public. To better record the life of elites, the designer avoids the single decoration style of piling up complex colors. Instead, concise expression which matches the gentle, modest and self-disciplined temperament of urban elites is adopted.

Fitty Wun in San Francisco, California by Feldman Architecture

Tuesday, December 5th, 2017

Article source: Feldman Architecture

The design for Fitty Wun reflects the playful, sometimes irreverent, personalities of the clients, a couple with three active young boys and a “work hard, play hard” approach to life. The clients desired a house centered on large, light-filled central spaces where the kids and friends of the family would love to hang out today and also ten years from now. This space also acts as a welcoming, warm kind of “Panopticon that allows the boys the freedom to be boys while the parents are strategically within ear, if not always eyeshot, to arbitrate, adjudicate and apply basic medical direction” (the client’s words!).

Pyramid House in Sysmä, Finland by VOID Architecture

Tuesday, December 5th, 2017

Article source: VOID Architecture

A pyramidal roof culminating in a fully glazed nature observatory defines this wooden house built on a square footprint.

The owner of a beautiful plot stuck between a mountain forest and a lake in Finland wanted a house with a distinctive character that would offer the comfort of a contemporary lifestyle and, at the same time, establish a tight connection with the strong and beautiful natural features of the site.

A solution was found in a wooden building designed around a pure geometric shape, balancing clean contemporary lines, traditional materials and complex spatial solutions.
