Totoro in Paris, France by KOZ architects

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Article source: KOZ architects

The Paul Bourget neighborhood has long been a « terra incognita » of the Parisian cityscape. To the outside it is a citadel hanging above the tumultuous « périphérique » ring road and the swirling canopy of the Kellerman Park. Inwards it is a modest piece of the post-war urban planning boom, introverted and peacefully forgotten. Its striking sense of community is so close and yet so distant from the hustle of the nearby Porte d’Italie. Do we know of other places in Paris where residents seem to come « out of the woods » to enter the city?

Brick Cave in Hanoi, Vietnam by H & P Architects Joint Stock Company

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Article source: H & P Architects Joint Stock Company

The house is located in a suburban commune of Hanoi which has undergone a rapid process of urbanization. It is designedin a philosophy that it will help shape a place similar to the natural environment in an artificial manner.

The proposed structure of the house resembles that of a Cave. The overall structure is made up of and enclosed by two layers of brick wall meeting one another at an intersection, with alternate ‘green’ arrangements of plants and vegetables. Bricks have long been a familiar local material and widely used in rural areas of Vietnam with a simple manual construction method.

MX housing in Veracruz, Mexico by Morales architects

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Article source: Morales architects

The housing MX emerges the multifaceted necessity of the users who look for a prototype of housing of sale different to the commercial thing through a mortgage.

The project is based on an analysis and a study of the local neighborhood market. Morales architects designs a prototype with a risky proposal to the existing criteria and customs, minimizing the commercial without suspending certain traditional factors, since this plays an important role in the risk-time-cost of sale with a limited and controlled budget based on experimental criteria.

The Books House in Sydney, Australia by Luigi Rosselli Architects

Monday, June 11th, 2018

Article source: Luigi Rosselli Architects

A Calligrapher handed three books to his wife, she placed them in a random stack on the table… “We want The Books House”… they said.

The Architect understood that the books were not only a reference to a home he had previously designed named The Six Degrees of Separation, but also to the ledges and shelves of Sydney-Hawkesbury sandstone outcrops that surface on the steep escarpments of the northern side of Sydney Harbour, including the block of land owned by the Calligrapher and the Businesswoman.
