Åstrup Have in Haderslev, Denmark by NORRØN Architects

Friday, August 13th, 2021

Article source: NORRØN Architects

New recreational farmhouse designed by Danish architecture studio NORRØN embraces Danish ruralism and bridges history and a contemporary way of living.

The latest addition to Copenhagen-based NORRØN’s body of work is Åstrup Have – a new recreational farmhouse gazing at Haderslev Fjord and built upon the dream of the countryside. Coined around concepts of biodynamic food production, freely grazing animals and farm to table, Åstrup Have evokes the region’s vernacular building tradition and inquisitively reinterprets the traditional Danish farmhouse.

House Lhotka in Prague, Czech Republic by SOA architekti & Richter design

Wednesday, August 11th, 2021

Article source: SOA architekti & Richter design

Urban planning and architectural design

In the design, we aimed to create a place with its own unique identity. The house is divided into four different volumes. The heart of the house is a dining area and the main corridor which connects these volumes together. The light wooden structure of the ceiling in the dining room continues from the interior to the exterior effortlessly and induces a notion of floating and generous open space. Large windows and moveable glass partitions open the center of the house into the garden. The frontal facade consists of two compact volumes. The overall scale of the house fits into its surroundings very well. With green roofs and plenty of greenery around the house, one feels welcome and safe.

DJ House in Tangerang, Indonesia by STUDIÉ

Friday, August 6th, 2021

Article source: STUDIÉ

This project is a residential renovation project located in Tangerang Indonesia which has a tropical climate and is quite hot and humid. The existing building cannot meet the client’s needs both in terms of space programs and in terms of design desires. Seeing this, we created a design by combining the needs of the occupants and the building itself, where the front of the building directly faces west so that the rooms in the front area have a hot air temperature until the evening. Therefore we added a layer on the facade of the building which aims to filter the light that enters the house. Because the name of the occupant is DJ, we also make the analogy of making the shape of the building as if it were two separate parts between the right and left sides like a turntable.

Heyri, Chronotope Wall in Paju-si, South Korea by UNSANGDON Architects Cooperation

Friday, August 6th, 2021

Article source: UNSANGDON Architects Cooperation

The formation of a city in which various architectural types, materials, and forms are constructed is both a strength and a weakness of Heyri Village. It failed to create any order in the province and became a city freely composed of diversity. Instead of creating another complexity in a complex city, we tried to construct an architectural space through the wall, the most basic architectural vocabulary. The walls of the past are classical by structural limitations and have limitations that block spatial communication. By transforming these past walls, we try to create experiences and situations that have been changed by the chronotope setting.
