Dock House in Prague, Czech Republic by mar.s architects

Wednesday, May 17th, 2017

Article source: mar.s architects

From the original “boat” interior we only kept wooden ceiling and beams and gave the floors new coat of paint. The oak furniture wooden elements stand out thanks to monochrome interior, including the gemstone of the restaurant – Dry Ager – where the meat matures. The only colour elements that lit up the whole area are gold insides of the pendant lamps. The front wall is decorated with original graphic by Jakub Šejvl that refers to the origins of steaks.

Article source: v2com

Botanist, Vancouver’s highly anticipated new restaurant inside Fairmont Pacific Rim, will officially open on Monday, April 24, 2017, beginning with breakfast service.

The restaurant will present a collection of four diverse spaces -a dining room, cocktail bar and lab, garden, and a champagne lounge.
Executive Chef Hector Laguna’s menu depicts the culinary abundance of the region – produce rooted from the soil of the northwest, sustainably sourced seafood; and organic agricultural methods from backyard suppliers. Signature items include root vegetables, oven-roasted halibut with spring vegetables and crab emulsion, and herb crusted lamb rack with green garlic panisse, fava and shallots. The menu is accompanied by wine director Jill Spoor’s boutique terroir-driven wine program that supports sustainable, organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking practices.

Article source: Robot 3 Studio

Each ring road of Beijing is a rough division of social class. The invisible wall made up of power and wealth divides Beijing into pieces of fixed territories, some of which are inaccessible for majority of people in their whole life. Ar de Rio Bar Esplanade in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal by Menos é Mais Arquitectos Associados, lda

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017

Article source: Menos é Mais Arquitectos Associados, lda

Architecture is not built without matter as it imposes a physuical limit.

The limits of this object reside in the precise definition of its structural ‘parti’ as much as in the desire of achieveing a limitless state.

The brief asked for a versatile space, protected from the seasonal changes of weather but open to the river breeze in warmer days.

The condition of its openings is such that the object becomes with ease a ‘covered’ esplanade.

Bodegas Real Winery in Valdepeñas, Spain by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos

Friday, April 28th, 2017

Article source: Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos

The project is an extension of a 17th century farmhouse and wine cellar in the countryside of La Mancha, which creates a centre devoted to wine culture. A new star–shaped piece is placed in the ancient courtyard, connecting old buildings and new ones. Its large scale is fragmented into smaller open spaces, each of them linked to the new functions around it. The courtyard, centre of the activity of the old farmhouse, is transformed by this star–shaped construction but maintains its character as an exterior space. The peaks of the star open towards the landscape giving entrance to the new complex. In this way the complex acquires a new relationship with the surroundings.
