Article source: Wiki World+Advanced Architecture Lab(AaL)

Mountain&Cloud Cabin is designed and built by WikiWorld+Advanced Architecture Lab. The leading architect Mu Wei has his living experiences in Norway and the beautiful mountain site reminds him the Norwegian aurora: You can never order nature, besides you become part of it. We try to design and build as nature: cabins seem to come from the future, but disappear in the nature. They are the viewfinders of nature and breathe freely in the forest.

MeeHotel in Shenzhen, China by PANORAMA Design Group

Wednesday, October 14th, 2020

Article source: PANORAMA Design Group

MeeHotel is a new urban resort hotel in the city of Shenzhen, China aims to give business travelers a peaceful state. The project location is called “Bamboo Forest”, so we naturally generate our story from this name.

Starting from the lobby space, bamboo was selected as the key material to let customers enter the lobby space and greeted by sophisticated light and shadow effect on the main wall. Various on-site tests & experiments with traditional bamboo weaver were done to create full height screens to define reception and lobby lounge area. Pitched roof ceiling and natural diatom mud finished walls overlay by articulated light and shadow effects provide a minimal and leisure experience for the entire space.

Chenot Palace Weggis Health Wellness Hotel in Canton Lucerne by davide macullo architects

Friday, October 2nd, 2020

Article source: davide macullo architects

Chenot Palace Weggis Health Wellness Hotel is designed for human well-being. A stand-alone property, it sits at the edge of the village of Weggis, at the foot of the Swiss Alps on the gentle shores of Lake Lucerne, overlooking the spectacular peaks of Mount Rigi and Pilatus, in a region famed for its wellness offers. The striking beauty and sense of eternity one finds in this, the most historical and magical area of Switzerland calls for the continuation of the powerful attitude that seeks to preserve the past and relate it to the future. There is the energy here revealing how much the earth had to move and morph in order to give us this wonder. It is not difficult to imagine this place before human settlement.

Pukou Community Center in Nanjing, China by Brearley Architects + Urbanists

Saturday, September 12th, 2020

Article source: Brearley Architects + Urbanists

A new district on the fringe of Nanjing, formulated on the green dream of modernist planning, and comprised mostly of large autonomous gated housing communities has left Pukou as a well-engineered city but one with limited opportunity for dynamic public life. This project brings an intense moment of urbanity to the district, maximising public space and opening opportunities for the emergence of public life.
