K&K in Alpe di Siusi, Italy by noa* – network of architecture

Thursday, February 5th, 2015

Article source: noa* – network of architecture

noa* (network of architecture) add a cosy yet functional atmosphere to the new ski-rental and shop K&K located on the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi, and outlines a comforting backdrop in the middle of the surrounding Alpine landscape.

The design of the interiors evolves along three contrasting materials: The warmth of the matured local spruce, the soft surfaces of the felt-fabric and the edgy metal furniture elements together aim to create a cosy and comfortable living room atmosphere.

NICARAGUA SHOP in Bs. As., Argentina by Speziale Linares | Arquitectos

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015

Article source: Speziale Linares | Arquitectos

In a lot of 8.66 x 20.50 meters in Nicaragua Street , near the Armenia park , Palermo, city of Buenos Aires , Argentina , we were commissioned the renovation and extension of a house to turn it into a shop. After visiting the property, taking photographs and talking with the owners , we found that there were three very specific data on which we should work. First of all, the existing property, a one level “casa chorizo” (typology of house typical in the city) retaining much of its original architecture. The second one, the commercial program, clearly defined as a shop selling furniture, fabrics and decorative items. Finally, a company that wanted to make itself known and seeks to be recognized as a new shop in the neighborhood.

Sylhet is a growing city. The city is expanding to the western part after the establishment of public university. The expansion has been boomed after the recent shifting of City Central Jail and Marine academy there. The area is commercializing very fast with time. “Design of a pastry shop, storefront” in Montréal, Canada by Atelier Moderno & Anne Sophie Goneau

Tuesday, January 13th, 2015

Article source: Atelier Moderno & Anne Sophie Goneau

The design of the new address of the patisserie À La Folie aims to defy all typecasts of the conventional pastry shop by giving full prominence to the superior presentation and quality of its unique products. The execution of the design begins with the storefront. The shop’s 650 sq.ft. ground floor location on the colorful street of Mont-Royal impelled the creation of a space that is distinguished by its neutrality, acting as a monochromatic backdrop to the vibrancy of both the street and the pastries within. The neutral gray interior elevates the wonderful shapes, textures, and hues of the products on display. This voluntary restraint isolates the senses, and the focus becomes only the pastries themselves; the customer almost begins to taste with their eyes!

Tsubomi House in Tokyo, Japan by FLAT HOUSE

Friday, January 2nd, 2015

Article source: FLAT HOUSE

This house is very tiny.

Footprint of this house, including the biscuit shop that is part of the house, is only 26m2. The entire house is divided into seven split levels without partitions and all levels are connected by a staircase situated in the middle of the house.  From the shop on the ground floor, this metal staircase connects the kitchen and the dining on 1.5 level, then the living space on 2 level, and finally the sleeping area on the top floor that is shared by all family members.  A second set of concrete steps continue from the ground floor to the basement, housing the shop and its bathroom.

Tuesday, November 25th, 2014

Article source: i29 interior architects

Having successfully opened a temporary store earlier this year, Frame Magazine decided to continue at a new location. i29 interior architects where asked again to design their retail environment. At Felix Meritis, the monumental ‘Zuilenzaal’ was transformed into a mirrored universe to reflect and intensify its grandeur. There could not have been more contrast with the new location at Herengracht 178, a serene completely white space.

This is 3.1 Phillip Lim 2014 Pop- Up store at Shinjuku Isetan, which opens from April 2014 for six months.
This time the shop is located on the third floor of the department store, which had a space with a strong character. We attempt to make five renewals in 6 months, and at this stage we have done two renewals.
In this project, we focus on the brand philosophy of 3.1 Phillip Lim. Several sets of “almost” opposing words are given. “Almost” is the keyword that represents the wide scope of their design directions, and also it liberates their ways of thinking. The keywords are as follows.

CABANE de ZUCCa SHIBUYA PARCO in Tokyo, Japan by Jo Nagasaka/Schemata Architects

Friday, November 21st, 2014

Article source: Jo Nagasaka/Schemata Architects

This is the renovation of CABANE de ZUCCa SHIBUYA PARCO. When commissioned for the project, my initial thought was “Unbelievable….Can’t be true!”, because the CABANE de ZUCCa flagship in Omotesando was the shop I admired most when I was a boy fresh out of high school, although I was not a fashion-conscious type. I didn’t dare to enter but only peeked inside from the street, and I was intrigued and fascinated by the simple yet sophisticated shop design composed of galvanized steel frames-such material was rarely used for a shop interior during that time. The impression of the shop space still remains vivid in my memory.
