Middle Park House in Victoria, Australia by Mitsuori Architects

Wednesday, October 7th, 2015

Article source: Mitsuori Architects

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This renovation and addition to an existing Victorian home in inner bayside Melbourne responds to the changing needs of an active, growing family and creates flexible and relaxed spaces for them to inhabit for many years to come. This project includes renovation to the existing historical building and the addition of a double storey extension to create a multi-zoned family home. Aesthetically, the new building was to remind them subtly of family holidays to the beach.

Code Black in North Melbourne VIC, Australia by Zwei Interiors Architecture

Wednesday, October 7th, 2015

Article source: Zwei  Interiors Architecture

At 119 Howard, the focus is on the space as a stage in the theatre of life. Set in what was originally a mechanics workshop, 119 Howard st, North Melbourne is the next chapter in Joseph Haddad’s Melbourne coffee empire. The space is a warm tonal interplay of existing spatial elements with natural light and materiality, and uses residential references to create an environment that is a ’home away from home’.

Altana R & D Center in Mumbai, India by MALIK Architecture

Sunday, September 27th, 2015

Article source: MALIK Architecture

The plot itself filled with lush large trees and its profile have dictated the evolution of the design concept. A careful study of the site, levels and the root structure of the trees leaves limited areas for development of the R&D center.  It is this study that first drove us into demolishing the existing house along with the following reasons:

  1. Aesthetically unsuitable for a modern R&D lab.
  2. Large area available without trees.
  3. Possibility of construction of a basement + upper floors to optimize built-up area.
