H&L Office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina by Gepek Studio (Damir Dautbegović & Belma Jusufović)

Sunday, March 11th, 2018

Article source: Gepek Studio (Damir Dautbegović & Belma Jusufović)

The space was of residential character, rather ruined, however at the request of the client it was turned into a commercial space. Adaptation did not make any significant changes in the layout, except for some improvements, such as the expansion of existing door openings, which allowed the space to be more transparent.

FGV house in Catania, Italy by Tuttiarchitetti

Friday, February 16th, 2018

Article source: Tuttiarchitetti

From 1 room of 48 sqm to 4 rooms of 16 sqm: increase of surfaces, multiplication of space. Two overturned and turned 90 ° turnstiles – in birch plywood panels – operate this magic, also providing the “disappearance” of the metal loft, heavy burden of the previous real estate RE-structuring, and returning “air” to the compartment. The space is so circular: from the living room, to the kitchen, to the study, to the upper bedroom: that from the living room, on the study, connected to the kitchen by a yellow monochrome staircase “dug out” in the birch portals; as well as the front desk counter.

Cabo de Vila House in Paredes, Portugal by spaceworkers

Thursday, January 11th, 2018

Article source: spaceworkers

Cabo de vila is a house for a young couple that wanted a house that doesn’t look like a regular house. When we first meet the place for the house, the approach to the location give us the central mote for the project. We wanted a shape that can fill the void left by the valley and at the same time we wanted this new shape to embrace and reflects the surrounding green areas giving its users a special perspective on the landscape.

Hotel Tenda Rossa is a waterfront property on the Marina di Carrara coast with 70 years of experience in the tradition of hospitality. Throughout several phases it has been expanded and renovated to keep pace with the needs of customers who are ever more attentive to the quality of their accommodations. In this spirit the 2017 renovation, upgrade and expansion work has begun to give a face lift to the building and to house three new suites on the ground floor (sea side). The architectural design was awarded to architect Marco Andreoni while the interior design project was the work of architect Daniele Menichini.

ACM Graphic Lab in Cremosano, Italy by tIPS ARCHITECTS

Thursday, April 6th, 2017

Article source: tIPS ARCHITECTS

An architectonic and graphic procedure is a continuous evolution of tests, drafts and tries.

Everybody knows and \”loves\” the final result but the design process that made it, belongs to the creative team.

We thought to cover the walls of the ACM GRAPHIC LAB by these attempts , by these pieces of paper, used them like a classical element of the interior design: the wallpaper.

WINTERGARDEN HOUSING

In January 2012, Atelier Kempe Thill in collaboration with Fres architects won the competition for fifty apartments, a dentists practice, a mother – child – care center and an underground parking at the Porte de Montmartre in Paris for the public housing corporation Paris Habitat. The apartments are in terms of budget within the lowest financing categories of public social housing for rent. The site is part of the typical former industrial estates and areas with 1960’s apartment complexes along the boulevard Périphérique that are going to be changed into contemporary housing areas.

Birraria Giori in Ferrara, Italy by Rizoma Architetture

Sunday, May 22nd, 2016

Article source: Rizoma Architetture

Birraria Giori is located in the centre of Ferrara at the feet of the Este Castle. Its prime location meant that it was very important to take into consideration the historical surroundings. The design was based on the principle objective of restoring the front of the bar which is part of series of arches facing the town hall, know as the “covered way”, part of the Vice-Legato palace dating back to 1877. The primary aim of the project was to “clean up” the original structure or design, stripping off the numerous additions and modifications from over the years to reveal the original form and materiality of the arch, and to provide continuation with the rest of the walkway. The gazebo remains intact, and the windows and a new second ceiling are designed around a motif that reflects the famous lantern which burns at the foot of the Este Castle. The interiors are characterised by the use of wood and stone, the shades of the plaster and the tones of the interior reflect the the equilibrium between the old and the modern. The triangular facets of the new bench seating and also the ceiling, decorated with golden flashes, are based on the rustication of the Palazzo dei Diamanti, the most important historical building of Ferrara.

Nursery in Buhl, France by Dominique Coulon & associés

Thursday, April 7th, 2016

Article source: Dominique Coulon & associés

The building marks the entrance to a small village nestling in a valley in Alsace. A 14th-century castle dominates the site from the nearby hillside. The day nursery echoes the orthonormal geometry of the fortified castle. A perimeter wall with openings like on a castle wall protects the children’s playgrounds. This spatial arrangement offers views of the rounded outlines of the Vosges mountains. The principle of the strictly rectangular plan is an arrangement of successive crowns containing the elements of the project. These layers give depth to the project overall. The heart of the building is formed by a central space which emerges at double the height and plays with natural light like a kaleidoscope. This almost cubic volume condenses a host of faces ranging in colour from pink to red. The matte and shiny colours resonate, shaping the space to make it richer and more subtle.
