Article source: RSG

The ideology behind the convertible interior design is to remove people from the crowdedness of Beylikduzu into a relaxing atmosphere where the families move freely in the sales office. Our client aim is to build a housing complex with an earth and nature friendly lifestyle by considering aesthetic values. Our main criteria in designing the interior of the complex were that the building excels in the structure and position of the functional layout together with smooth circulation organization.

“Building at Beylikdüzü” in Istanbul, Turkey by YEGENA

Wednesday, February 11th, 2015

Article source: YEGENA

The building at Beylikdüzü / İstanbul was designed in 2011. Starting point of this design was the segmentation of a rectangular prism whose size is at maximum allow able by local zoning regulations, by load-bearing walls. After this first design step, while these load-bearing walls form the balconies on the building block , they also establish the facade of the building by back and forth free and independent movements between floors. This secondary and final step is  perceived especially from perspective views and constitutes an irregular repetition array. Although started with a regular geometry, by the help of this irregular repetition array , the desired attractive irregular rhythm is achieved.

Article source: Låda Cube

\”In 2013 Låda Cube set out to change how we use and think about our walls.

Fueled by our belief that traditional stick-built walls consume needless time, energy, and resources, we set out to develop a better technology. We couldn’t be more excited about the results!

We created a wall that is infinitely flexible and allows for rapid modifications of spaces, a wall that is transportable, a wall that is cheaper, and most importantly, a wall that is beautiful.

Castle Garden Bazaar in Budapest, Hungary by Budapesti Muhely

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015

Article source: Budapesti Muhely

Budapest is often called the Queen of the Danube: the most characteristic feature of its bank-side scenery is the Buda Castle, which has been subject to major reconstruction works in recent times. An important stepping-stone in this process is the revival of the Castle Garden Bazaar (Várkert Bazár), wedged between the castle and the river: the stunning complex originally consisted of a Neo-Renaissance garden, the castle walls and 19th century buildings.

KANARI ISLAND in Piraeus, Greece by U67 (Fabio Gigone + Angela Gigliotti)

Saturday, February 7th, 2015

Article source: U67 (Fabio Gigone + Angela Gigliotti)

The Piraeus and the city of Athens together form a complex metropolitan area in which the presence of an archipelago of spaces emerges clearly from the dense low-rise fabrics’ layer of the houses. The islands of this archipelago could be considered the eminent mountains, hills, sporadic open spaces, thick industrial buffers and a myriad of gardens. In a way, here the Cyclades are mirrored to form a reverse: where the docking to one of those “islands” often means to get a breath. “Kanari Island” and “Ietionian Gate” are two twin islands placed next to the Piraeus Port, even if not directly connected with the sea and not even to each other, still their opposite topography makes the docking to them two completely different experiences. The relationship between these two islands is the framework in which this proposal has to be collocated. Both for the visitors and for the residents, the “Kanari Island” has a central role due to its position: it is a contemporary urban gate for the city.

AL Flat in Barcelona, Catalunya by Alventosa Morell Arquitectes

Saturday, February 7th, 2015

Article source: Alventosa Morell Arquitectes

The project consists of a total interior rehabilitation of a small flat, built at the beginning of the XX century.

Our challenge in this project was to redesign some spaces to get bigger and comfortable ambients.

It was in very bad conditions and with too many rooms, spaces, in a small net floor area; so the approach to the project has been to intervene as much as possible in its original rooms distribution.
