A three floor cubical volume is located next to a late XIX century villa. The new building is linked to the villa by means of a galvanized steel and glass-made set of stairs that allows the cast of indirect natural light not only on the villa, but also on the new atelier, marking the entrance point of both of them. The atelier is defined by a galvanized steel-made framework and by perforated slabs to allow the entrance of natural light. On the other hand, the villa´s terrace is meant to be a view-point on the garden, removing some parts of the railing by selecting the ground materials and filtering the sunlight with sunshaders, softening the transition between the inside and outside parts of the house.

Feeling at home is one of the deepest and most pleasing emotion we can have.
Indeed ours is not a simple ‘house’. And our home is as much a complex array of different spaces as it is the set of the so many different activities we live.

The design for the luxorious villa near lake Neusiedl is not only named after the world-famouse home of rock’n’roll star Elvis, its style is also based on the imposing building in Memphis. The clients are extraordinary Elvis fans.
The front facade of the house is a postmodern plagiarism, which is morphed into a modern villa towards the garden- and yard-side of the building.

Play of covered/uncovered – in/out – full/void spaces was the main idea in designing this holiday retreat – the idea of a simple stroke, a swing of form that can enrich a functional and aesthethic vision.

The brief was to design a family house on a north facing triangular promontory, overgrown with pine and blueberry bushes, covered with large boulders. The first sketches were made in 2010 and were put on hold until 2013. The project was completed in 2015.
Connected with the water front in all directions; except on one side, due to the risk of flooding.
We wanted to take advantage of the site’s unique conditions and make a dwelling with maximum contact with the surrounding nature and water but with respect to privacy.

Julian and his wife, Mana, a fashion designer, chose the 3,500 sq ft, five-storey house they have now been living in for 18 months for its stunning views over the country park, Plover Cove Reservoir and the South China Sea.
“It is a famous feng shui area because you can see three ‘dishes’ of water – the reservoir and the sea on either side of an island – which is a sign of very good fortune. There are green mountain views and we can also see the Kwun Yum [statue] from our rooftop on a clear day,” says Chan. “I love it because we are so close to nature – you can hear the birds sing during the day and the insects whistling at night. One of our priorities was the private glass-fronted terrace [with water wall] so we could take advantage of our natural environment.”

Andreas Hummel completed an L-shapped three-bedroom villa in 2014. That villa is spotted in the west coast bay of Santa Ponsa, in the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.
The plot in which is based the house is 1.148 square-meters. The entrance of the plot is made on the high side. The plot has an uneven ground, adapting the house to the ground level when is required till reaching the swimming pool and always opening to the sea views.
