Article source: Círculo Cuadrado

One of the challenges you most enjoy DIN interior is to give a new image to a hotel, especially when it involves a comprehensive change , which begins and ends in the name of a new concept. This hotel had Pugibet name is in central Mexico City , close to the traditional market of San Juan . It was decided to start with a name change , something that was very attractive and one word to describe her new identity.

KAA Restaurant in São Paulo, Brazil by Studio Arthur Casas

April 9th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Studio Arthur Casas

São Paulo is a City that reveals itself behind the walls which makes some places amazing and special.

The discrete facade of the newest restaurant KAA gives no hint of what may prove to be internally. Inside, the narrow space of 798 m2 gets a new depth through the Green verical wall with plants from the Atlantic forest. The water mirror on the botton of the tropical green wall refers to “Igarapés”, that were so common before as well as nowadays in that region.

Loft renovation in Oslo, Norway by Austigard Arkitektur AS

April 9th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Austigard Arkitektur AS

The architect was approached by the client with the request of converting the existing loft from uninsulated storage to living spaces. Due to the low ceiling height at about 2.1 at the maximum, the client suggested the roof be completely rebuilt in a position about one meter higher. This original plan would have doubled the building budget and most probably have been rejected by building authorities due to height restrictions. Instead the architect suggested keeping the roof in the same position, and instead work with the space so that it would be usable and feel spacious, even with the limited ceiling height.

House on a cliff in Oslo, Norway by Austigard Arkitektur AS

April 8th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Austigard Arkitektur AS

The client asked the architect for a one-room extension, which is what the zoning laws would permit. Since The house had only a small garden in front, facing morning sun, so the architect proposed to put the extension largely below ground, and allow for a big rooftop terrace facing evening sun and sunset. This would also allow for a more secluded location of the extended room, which was a wish by the client.

Lucent – De Alliantie headquarters in Hilversum, Netherlands by Studioninedots

April 8th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Studioninedots

Studioninedots’ design transforms an existing 1970s office building on the Lucent site in Hilversum into the new headquarters of de Alliantie, a Dutch housing corporation. The most eye-catching intervention involves the removal of large areas of infill floors and walls from the sturdy concrete structure. This creates a spectacular four-storey-high void, the light and lively new heart of the building that connects the different departments.

ENERGY LAND TOWER in Vienna, Austria by heri&salli

April 8th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: heri&salli

The architectural studio heri&salli from Vienna was assigned by the Vienna Technical Museum the development of a solar updraft tower for Vienna’s urban space. In a solar updraft tower the air is warmed by the sun by means of a horizontal floor convector and rises due to the natural thermic convection in a “chimney“. Several turbines create electrical energy by means of this airflow.

Embedded köfererhof in Novacella, Italy by Bergmeisterwolf architekten

April 8th, 2016 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Bergmeisterwolf architekten

Architecture is a project of development; it’s about inquiring, exploring new ground, about experimentation. It’s working with the landscape, trying to find integration with the material, with proportions. It’s about understanding pictures, their impacts and coloring. For us this process starts from the context and is culturally determined.
