Article source: Giovanni Vaccarini Architetti

The project for the new Headquarters of SPG in Geneva starts with the adaptive reuse of a pre-existing building to which we added to extra floors and a new facade.

The quality of the workspaces was the central theme for us, which led us to completely redesign the exterior facade of the building.

MAIO’s spatial concept for Arper is defined by a set of geometric elements that can be freely assembled and recombined. A set of simple geometric frames allows an infinity of possibilities and spatial reconfigurations as well as using different finishings, textures and colors. Harvey Pediatric Clinic in Rogers, Arkansas by Marlon Blackwell Architects

August 31st, 2017 by Sanjay Gangal

Article source: Marlon Blackwell Architects

The Harvey Pediatric Clinic is the new home of a thriving pediatric clinic based in Rogers, Arkansas.  Situated in a land formerly dotted by the silhouettes of singular objects such as barns, sheds, silos, RV vehicles and semi-trucks, the building is a biological cousin to these different typologies. It is a silent, yet strong, contrast in figure and color to the excess of materials, weak forms, and beige tones that make up the everyday suburban landscape that surrounds the building.

August 30th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Town and Concrete

The cylinder house is designed to fit between the trees of a wooded lot near Lyon, France.

For this house, the plan is based on a juxtaposition of a simple element, a cylinder. This cylinder can be opened, semi-open, closed, whatever its disposition it participates in the delimitation of space. It is an open plan, with the cylinder pieces as posts. There is a play of height offset on the cylinders to also provide a delimitation by the height of the ceilings.

Voordorp is a neighbourhood in Utrecht. The area was designed in the 90’s by several architects. Responsible for the supervision was the architect Theo Bos. He won the Rietveld prize for architecture for his urban scheme. Characteristically for the scheme is the small-scaled structure with many corners, gardens, entrances and a lot of new extensions which fit quite well in the architecture of the area.
