Lumen Offices in Tel Aviv, Israel by Jonathan Canetti Architecture & Design

Article source: Jonathan Canetti Architecture & Design

Lumen is a high tech company that operates in the field of health and wellness. Their headquarters are located on the entire 10th floor in one Tel-aviv’s newest office buildings, right in the heart of the city’s business district.

As a rapidly growing tech company it was clear from the beginning that the project would be done in two stages. While the first was designed in 2019 (and completed in 2020, during the first months of the pandemic), the second stage was designed a year and a half later, when living with the pandemic called for a change of concept in the design. This project is a clear example of the effects the COVID-19 pandemic had on everyday life.

Inhabit the Ruins in Jevíčko, Czech Republic by Ressano Garcia Arquitectos

October 15th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Ressano Garcia Arquitectos

This project aims to recover the set of ruins on the agricultural property of Fazenda de São Bartolomeu.

The Existing Situation

The whole is more like a small village where each building is a distinct part of its neighbor. A rich variety of typologies appears and yet there is a profound uniformity in the whole. The old facilities dedicated to agriculture were built and adapted according to new needs. The replacement of people by the machine brought changes in use.

Located in Vila Olímpia, in São Paulo, the project was conceived for a single young man who wanted an apartment that reflected his cosmopolitan lifestyle. As he lived alone, one request was to modify the original apartment plan, integrating one of the three bedrooms with the living room and increasing the social area space to receive friends. In addition, the balcony was closed and integrated into the living room, creating an area of about 75m² that includes a dining room, living room, and gourmet kitchen with bar.

The luxury of the house is in the nature, the intention of the house was to evoke the peace of the environment through durable materials that would age naturally with the environment.

Architecturally, it is developed in two main volumes, which timidly show themselves as a piece sculpted in concrete, brick and large windows within a forest of Maples that surround them.

Pizzeria San Lazzaro in Italy by Studio Svetti Architecture

Pizza, as we all know, is no longer just a plate, it is a fact, a universal symbol, which involves everyone, it is a global plate and sometimes unfortunately “Globalized”.

The most effective synthesis on the essence of a pizza remains by Aurelio Ferro in the 1950s, a man willing to do the most unthinkable insanity for a woman he has just met, but she wanted a pizza. A choir of Neapolitan voices could help us to make it better the idea, “vulia a ‘pizza”.

Forest House in Vilnius, Lithuania by Inblum Architects

October 10th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Inblum Architects

A residential house has been reconstructed in the Ribiškės Landscape Reserve belonging to the Pavilnys Regional Park.

The project aimed at reflecting the local spirit, contextually and sensitively meeting the needs of a modern house. Keeping a link to the past, and yet creating a present-day heritage, has become one of the main challenges. Do not expose architecture, but rather “immerse” it in an old apple orchard. To anchor the house comfortably to the terrain and make the inhabitants feel at ease in the environment.

Cité Rooftop in Florianópolis, Brazil by Marcelo Salum

October 10th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

The Cité Rooftop bar and restaurant is located on the roof of a multifunctional building, which houses apartments and commercial offices in downtown Florianópolis, Brazil.

The space previously operated at another address and was inspired by the city of Paris. Making a connection between the previous and the current environment, the initial reference remained the same, but with the addition of new inspirations.

The entrance hall, with its contrasting colors and prints and the walls covered by heavy fabric curtains, recalls the private and often secret clubs of the City of Light.

“True friendship is supposed to stand the test of time, distance and silence. I have learned that true friends are always there, even when they are not, and that is the case right now”.

Emanuele Svetti’s preamble is the best way to start telling the story of his first approach to the world of interior design in the United States: the Mass Beverly showroom in Los Angeles.
