The plot is located close to the forest but also among dense single family housing. The location of the plot and the view for the forest have given us direction of shaping the building. We heve chosen rather spacious building with the inside courtyard.

Seven Coffee in Changzhou, China by dongqi Architects

September 17th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: dongqi Architects

Dongqi Architects transformed and enlarged an old café into a new space with coffee, craft beer、food and bakery in the downtown of Changzhou.

The interior space is an overall “L” shape space. Coffee, craft beer and bakery zones take places separately in the three corners of the “L”. Coffee and craft beer zone have white ceilings and floors, and the bakery zone is a space with black covered all surfaces. The black and white spaces is divided by the curvy ceiling edge and steel wire. The heights of the ceilings on the two sides are different which not only differentiate the spaces according to their functions, but also naturally merge the old space and the new space together into an indivisible whole.

King solomon elementary school in Israel by Shoshani Architects

September 17th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Shoshani Architects

The King Solomon School is a Jewish, bilingual and International school in the center of Israel. It promotes holistic education.

The design concept is based on the wish to translate the pedagogical – philosophical idea of the holistic education to an exciting learning experience.

The Star of David symbol was the formal inspiration for the design. The inner shape- created from the intersection of the two triangles- is a hexagon, a shape with universal values.

The library space is attractive to children that would constantly refresh and continue to captivate their interest in books, in reading and in learning, Image Courtesy © Tal Nisim

Roof and Rectangular House in Tomakomai, Japan by Jun Igarashi Architects

September 17th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Jun Igarashi Architects

I keep on design activities in Hokkaido, so most of my projects ran there. By designing in a remarkably cold, I continued thinking on response to completely different contexts from other areas. They are mainly “cold” and “snow”. Of course there are other various things to deal with, but these contexts have the great impact. In this state, I felt the possibility of “a windbreak room” and thought about the expansion and diversity.

Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá Enlargement in Colombia by El Equipo de Mazzanti

Urban connector

The comprehension of a metropolitan scale is fundamental at the moment of thinking in an integral architectonical answer. More than solving a need for the expansion of the hospital, the project should commit to solve more of what it is requested, taking advantage of the good location of the intervention area. The project is located in a place in the city where two of the main avenues: 9th and 7th avenue almost connect. Our proposal looks forward to be a diagonal connector and work as a catalyzer for new flows, activities and human relationships.

The ongoing events and visitors that inhabit this urban oasis, together with the designed spatial elements, bring a transformative and invigorating life to a neighborhood in the making. As Shanghai expands, the Hongqiao District has become its new vibrant neighborhood because of the concentration of Hongqiao Railway and Subway Station, Hongqiao Airport, the new Convention Center and the CBD. The developer Shui On Land, the mastermind behind the Xintiandi development introduced the HUB mixed-use development in the heart of this new district. The highlight of this complex is the Performance and Exhibition Center that is envisioned as the “hot spot” of culture and arts of the new neighborhood.

Palm Beach Project in Sydney, Australia by Alexander&Co

September 17th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Alexander&Co

Palm Beach House project is the transformation of an existing waterfront holiday villa in Palm Beach, Sydney. The project is a restrained approach to a traditional European vernacular, exploring bespoke quality detailing, materiality and architectural framing.

With the existing house ineffectively dealing with scale limitations, the brief was primarily to explore how we could reintroduce a higher quality of spatial resolution. The plans and volumes were subsequently rationalized around better circulation, view corridors and access to the water.
