A CONTEMPORARY AND ACTIVE CAMPUS

The Nanterre Arboretum, built for BNP Paribas Real Estate and Woodeum, designed by the François Leclercq and laisné roussel architecture firms, provides a new way of working and conducting business. Firmly focused on environmental quality and integration of new ways of working, the Arboretum will be the largest project ever built from solid wood, worldwide. Construction for this project is set to start in 2018, with the objective of transforming an industrial wasteland into a 136,000 m² campus set in 9 hectares of parkland next to the Seine. The project as a whole is also the largest services sector project under development in Île-de-France.

East London-based MOCT Studio have re-planned and extended a suburban London semi-detached to provide a faceted roof social space for a large family.

The family of six had become increasingly cramped in the existing semi-detached, despite the previous addition of two small dormers, with shared children’s bedrooms, a single bathroom and fragmented living spaces that meant the family were rarely all in the same room.

The landmark silhouette of the new corporate headquarters marks the entrance to the Hohe Brücke business park in Wolfurt, Vorarlberg. Articulated into individual volumes, the complex presents itself, despite its varying building heights and sizes, as a convincing ensemble with a significant presence. With its strong identity and high recognition value, the new building also visually anchors the company at its location in the Rhine valley plain.

Rehabilitation of Convent of Santo Domingo for Exposition Hall in Huéscar, Spain by elisa valero arquitectura

July 16th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: elisa valero arquitectura

This work is based on an initial project by Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas.

Three years after the arrival of the Dominicans to Huéscar 1544, they built their convent on the plot.

The convent complex had to be traced according to the models then in force for that class of buildings: a quadrangular organism with four wings around a central cloister and laterally attached church. Only one part was built.
