Swiss house xxxiv in Galbisio, Switzerland by DAVIDE MACULLO ARCHITECTS

Article source: DAVIDE MACULLO ARCHITECTS

Our design is an articulated construction meant for the enjoyment of the spaces for many years to come.

From afar the building is a marker in the landscape, it expresses a meaning already suggested by its context. From close up, it is a collection of many things and from within, a world, that changes with the passing of the hours of the day and the days of the year.

Claus Porto Store in Lisboa, Portugal by João Mendes Ribeiro

November 13th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: João Mendes Ribeiro

Claus Porto is a portuguese scents brand whose 130 years history had to be summoned in the project of the first flagship store to open in Lisbon downtown. A heritage built not just by their impressive material assets, but also by their intangible patrimony, linked to the objects’ symbolic quality and value. Towards the visual impact that the Claus products have, the store design would have to be minimalist but very sensitive, so that it could enhance and complement the brand’s strong identity. It should be an inclusive, elegant and cosmopolitan place, but also a place with a strong sensory appeal.

Article source: CN10ARCHITETTI

The project provides for a new set-up of the “Sala delle Capriate” in the “Palazzo della Ragione” of Upper Bergamo. The building dates back to the XII century and represents the physical and functional center of the historic city. It is the core of a system of open public spaces and it directly relates to them on different sides. Once the building stopped to host the municipality, the upper room changed a series of different functions. Today its walls are covered with a significant review of art pieces collected over time from different buildings of the city.

Article source: kresings architektur

Pollença is a northern town of Mallorca that is well known for its lively Sunday market. Other wellknown attractions include the Calvary Steps, an ancient stairway that leads to the top of Mount Calvary; and the Roman Bridge, also known as the Pont Romà.

A short distance and parallel to Pollença’s Main Square, one finds the small street Carrer del Sol. This Medieval street is representative of Pollença’s cultivated approach to architecture and craftsmanship. This is also where House N° 3 is located.

Sberbank Headquarters in Moscow, Russia by IND Architects

November 13th, 2017 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: IND Architects

‘The City of Opportunities’—that’s how we’ve named our project, one of the storeys of Sberbank’s new office. The concept was inspired by Moscow and its beautiful districts, atmosphere, residents, and dynamics that many capitals of world’s leading countries would envy. The parts of the office are connected by a ‘ring road.’ The office itself is divided into six ‘districts’ designed on the basis of landmark sights of a relevant Moscow district: Sokolniki Park, Arbat, Krymskaya Embankment, Gagarin Square, VDNH, and Red Square. In addition to special design, there are meeting rooms in every ‘district’ of the office named after famous Moscow landmarks, like ‘lisya Nora’ (Fox Lodge), ‘Skvorechnik’ (Nesting Box), ‘Attraktsyon’ (Amusement Park), and other sights of Sokolniki Park. Not only does the concept of the office deal with its meaningfulness and visual content, but it facilitates navigation, too. For instance, the ‘ring road’ helps one easily find their way around in this rather big (7,000 sqm, no less) office, quicker find a meeting room needed or reach coworkers.

The house is located in a street lined with typical 19th century twin worker houses. A local regulation requires that any new construction has to take over the traditional typology of small houses with pitched roof.

Swisshouse Rossa in Graubünden, Switzerland by DAVIDE MACULLO ARCHITECTS

Article source: DAVIDE MACULLO ARCHITECTS

Swiss House Rossa represents the constant commitment to build with respect for the places we inhabit and to make every effort in helping our understanding of civilisation. This is an opera that lies on the cusp between art and architecture, a living sculpture. Alongside its primary role in protecting man from the elements, it is an architecture that needs art to complete it.
