Spending hours in the car for a weekend out of Sao Paulo was not part of the plan for this couple, with a small daughter and a second baby to come. That´s how they had the unusual idea of building a second house in the city of São Paulo, as a leisure house, less than a kilometer from their actual apartment.

A WEEKEND HOUSE IN THE CITY
São Paulo is a metropolis of 20 million people. It is approximately one hour from the coast. Because of severe traffic jams, its inhabitants spend hours commuting every day. On weekends, especially in the summer, hundreds of thousands drive to the beach causing jams on the roads as well.

CONSTRUCTED BUILDING AWARD AT IAB MG: INSTITUTE OF BRAZILIANARCHITECTS, MINAS GERAIS SECTION’s XV YEARLY PRIZE 2013

The Monet apartments building is located on a plot in a ‘ L’ shape in the hilly district of Cruzeiro in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and is a building of 13 floors with 18 apartments of approximately 80.00 m2 each, divided on levels of different configurations generating variations in the apartments shapes showing different terraces, double heights spaces or multi oriented balconies.

RB12 in Rio Branco, Brazil by Triptyque Arquitetura

The Triptyque, renowned Franco-Brazilian firm dedicated to sustainable design brings to Brazil the first corporate building based power generation: the  RB12 . Located on Rio Branco Avenue, the main commercial center of the path of Rio de Janeiro, the building will undergo a process of retrofit-green and will feature a bioclimatic façade, composed by a set of glasses with diamond sparkle zigzag, landscaping and suspended generation of energy through solar panel and fuel cell.

Modernist references and yellow cobogós the façade stand out amidst the trees a loft of 120 square meters designed by architect Ney Lima . In a Brasília neighborhood called Park Way, where neoclassical mansions predominate , the project stands to spend simplicity and personality and reveal a house with references in straight lines from the 60s and the Bauhaus school.

The will of a childless couple was building a home that preserved a typical tree savanna that existed on the ground even before the neighborhood Taquari remedies arise in the Capital of Brazil. Having this first fruits as a starting point , the architect Ney Lima residents met with a two-story house in a U shape Thus the project could benefit the most from the ground and even then highlight the darling of the residents.

The previous office this customer was in a wooded area in the Jardins neighborhood street in Sao Paulo. There the customer had a beautiful garden of Chinese bamboo, which the Chinese tradition (origin of Mr. Robert Wong), has some meanings such as: attracting prosperity and luck, enable energy, besides being strong and tough.
