Steelform Factory in São Roque, Brazil by Atelier d’Arquitectura Lopes da Costa

Sunday, February 14th, 2021

Article source: Atelier d’Arquitectura Lopes da Costa

The project consists of expanding the existing factory unit to the west and south, with the construction of a new pavilion and an administrative building.

The site’s configuration contributed to the adopted solution, which sought to maximize the area of the industrial nave, leaving the southern part of the site for the administrative area. This area lies along the new proposed street, giving rise to a curved concrete building, marked by vertical aluminum profiles, which sought to differentiate itself from the industrial volume, highlighting its function as an administrative area.

Rio House in Brazil by Olson Kundig

Friday, February 12th, 2021

Article source: Olson Kundig

After living in the urban core of Rio de Janeiro for many years, the clients wanted to build an intimate retreat on their property adjacent to the Tijuca National Park where they could enjoy books, art and especially the natural landscape. The primary design goal was to make the house as small as possible within its tropical jungle setting. The 1,500-square-foot house rises into the rainforest canopy – a secluded hideaway for the owner couple to retreat from the distractions of city life.

LL Apartament in Blumenau, Brazil by Studiocolnaghi

Saturday, February 6th, 2021

Article source: Studiocolnaghi

Among the main qualities of this apartment, it’s possible to recognise that its double ceiling height is one of the most interesting. This project was developed to a couple and their son, seeing a future perspective of a son’s apartment. So, the master bedroom was designed for the son, using a dark wood, a little bit of colour (blue and green) and leather details. At the closet, the ideia was to create a solution which the client could use without the sensation of a small space. So, the open wardrobe system was an interesting solution in this case.

The Most Beautiful House in São Paulo, Brazil by Leo Romano Interiors and Exteriors Eireli ME

Article source: Leo Romano Interiors and Exteriors Eireli ME

Located in Condomínio Terras de São José, in Itu, São Paulo, the 1100m2 residence received from the owners the affectionate name of “The most beautiful house”. The wide sloping terrain protects a portion of native forest. In this way, the project appropriates these characteristics for the definition of the architectural party. Few lines define the reinforced concrete structure. It is this evident structure that makes the volumetry appear to float over the terrain. The pillars are treated as sculptures and receive the slabs that duplicate at the ends of the building. In one of them, the gym overlaps the landscape.

GROENLANDIA in São Paulo, Brazil by Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados

Saturday, January 2nd, 2021

Article source: Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados

For more adequate that an architectural project may be, the program that has to be supplied by a construction varies over time, demanding, not a few, functional and constructive alterations. As it happens, with these elegant lines, the 740 m² residence, constructed around the year of 1950, in one of the most noble neighborhoods of São Paulo, recently submitted to a retrofit process, led by architect Fernanda Marques.

“This project was thought to attend a couple and their three children in a growing up phase. Everyone, invariably, interested in receiving guests. A lot of guests.” jokes Fernanda, that, since the beginning realized the necessity of optimizing the living spaces of the house. Even if, for that, it would require structural order alterations.

Geekie in São Paulo, Brazil by SP62 Architecture

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020

Article source: SP62 Architecture

Our history with Geekie begins in 2015, when the company developed an educational platform. With the office growing and gaining partners, the then startup company needed to set up its headquarters. For 2020, impacting 12 million students, the company expanded. A space for 180 people to work, with the concept of open tables, meeting rooms with different functionalities and an auditorium for larger events. The idea was to create a space on the ground floor to receive teachers and school principals from all over Brazil, so we created a prototype classroom and distinct from what is known as a “classroom”. In it, the slates accompany the walls, and come out from behind the teacher.
