Haus D in Bregenz, Austria by Dietrich | Untertrifaller Architekten

Friday, May 18th, 2018

Article source: Dietrich | Untertrifaller Architekten

Located on a mountain overlooking Bregenz, House D′s open floorplans and generous glazing allow for magnificent views over the surrounding countryside and Lake Constance. The home is stratified into 3 stories, with the Entrée and utilities located on the first floor, guest and children′s rooms on the second, and Master bedroom and an open layout kitchen+dining+living room on the third. In order to strengthen the connection to the natural environment, the third floor also boasts a patio which wraps around the entirety of the building. The geometric form of the home, combined with the architect′s decision to construct with concrete and wood, create a powerful building that seems to blend into the surrounding landscape. Furthermore, the attention to detail highlights the craftsmanship for which this region of Austria has become famous.

House Sch in Bregenz, Austria by Dietrich | Untertrifaller

Friday, February 3rd, 2017

Article source: Dietrich | Untertrifaller

Built on an extremely steep piece of land with an area of only 450m², Dietrich│Untertrifaller designed this single family home to best fit the constraints of the site. While a black painted concrete core ties the house to the hill and contains all service rooms, a more open wooden structure was chosen for the living area and bedrooms. The form of the home allows for the focal point of all the interior spaces to be the forests and the Rhine valley below.

House by the Lake in Bregenz, Austria by Marte.Marte Architects

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

Article source: Marte.Marte Architects

A group of middle-class houses, mainly built in the first half of the 20th century, are located above the Herz-Jesu church at the foot of the prominent Pfänder mountainside in Bregenz. The size of the house blends in with the other sporadic, villa-like houses, and the compact, square exposed concrete structure has identical facades on all sides, except for the west side of the house facing the lake.
