Cleopatra Hotel Apartments in Ayia Napa, Cyprus by HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

Tuesday, March 21st, 2017

Article source: HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

A low budget renovation for a hotel apartment complex in Ayia Napa. The building was originally build as apartments to be sold to tourists or locals as holiday or weekend homes. Our task was to turn them into a hotel apartment block to be used as long or short term rental apartments. We used light materials and happy vivid colors along with the neutral colors for the big surfaces. All of these come in contrast with the blue Cypriot sky and the bright Cypriot sun! We renovated all of the areas of the hotel either by tearing down unnecessary walls and building new ones where needed as well as changed most of the furniture in the public spaces. All bedrooms where renovated in contemporary style

Mediterranean Restaurant in Limassol, Cyprus by HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

Saturday, March 18th, 2017

Article source: HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

After the huge success the restaurant concept had in Nicosia and Larnaca, the time came for creating a similar restaurant in Limassol. The challenge here was to apply the same concept as in the other restaurants of the chain, in a space already used as a restaurant, covered with marble on the walls and wood everywhere else. We kept as much as possible, due to the fact that it was a low budget renovation, but refreshed and reused it, to match our concept. This project was in collaboration with interior designer Leonidas Leonidou.

Souvlaki Bar Restaurant in Nicosia, Cyprus by HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

Thursday, March 16th, 2017

Article source: HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

The concept for this pioneer restaurant was to successfully combine tradition with contemporary design and has set the example for other similar restaurants to follow. The result is a space with traditional atmosphere created in a unique and contemporary way just like the restaurant serves a traditional product in a unique and contemporary way. A low budget restaurant in minimal lines with “clean” materials in a combination of cold and warm colors. Inspired mostly by it’s name, the bar is the dominant element in the space. You can watch and enjoy how your food is being cooked sited on stools and counters or on conventional chairs and tables. This project was in collaboration with interior designer Leonidas Leonidou.

Deb’s Dinner Snack Bar | Leroy Merlin in Nicosia, Cyprus by HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

Tuesday, March 14th, 2017

Article source: HappyANTS Interior Architecture and Design

The owners of the snack bar within the building of Leroy Merlin are Cypriot Americans who worked in the restaurant business in the US before returning home to Cyprus. It was the flair of the traditional American dinner that we wanted to bring to this space in a more industrial way to match the industrial building hosting it.

This project was in collaboration with interior designer Leonidas Leonidou.

The Unseen Green in Limassol, Cyprus by Constantinos Kalisperas Architectural Studio

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

Article source: Constantinos Kalisperas Architectural Studio

The design is based on the creation of a small hybrid “Green Garden” that interconnects both the interior and exterior of the house. This new proposed green space, has the ability to host the social activities of the owners in a more causal manner, within the shelter provided by the overwhelming plantation. Plants are used as a “filtering” tool for the external surrounding ‘noise’ and sunlight, providing a great sense of privacy and tranquility.

Apartment building in Limassol, Cyprus by Vassiliades Architects

Tuesday, August 9th, 2016

Article source: Vassiliades Architects

The building is located in Limassol and consisted of 6 apartments. Morphologically, the building is a composition of solid volumes and surfaces, which vary in color and reflect functional differentiations and movements ∙ always aiming to the functionality and the comfort of the user. Dominant feature is the central vertical volume which is marked with a bright red color and serves the vertical movements. The balconies project into \”alignment\” as a reference to the morphological repeatability of the classic flats – only here, the order and the simplicity are the philosophy of composition. The glass railings highlight the overhanging levels and balance the \”heavy feeling\” of the compact set. In the latter, the circular openings in the \”frame\” that surrounds the balconies are opposed. Finally, the south facade retains the compact feeling, but the recesses and projections of the cubic volumes and the mild color variations offer the desired visual transitions that kill monotony.

Double house in Limassol, Cyprus by Vassiliades Architects

Sunday, August 7th, 2016

Article source: Vassiliades Architects

The challenge to create two different and independent dwelling units on the same site was fulfilled successfully because they follow the same design philosophy and are consolidated visually. Morphologically the houses are characterized by orthonormal, parallelepiped volumes, lined with wood panels which stand out from the primary white volume and reflect functionally the bedrooms. The exposed concrete elements come to add strength and simplicity in whole, functioning \”compensatory \” in the warm mood that the large wood surfaces give. The design course was determined by the dedication to the functionality, when at the same time many bioclimatic elements were included in order to achieve thermal comfort for the users.
