Media Library and University Residence in Aix-en-Provence, France by ANMA

Thursday, March 22nd, 2018

Article source: ANMA

This operation, which forms part of the Mirabeau Campus Plan, describes three complementary university programs – a media library, a restaurant, and a residence- that must be linked, but each has their own identity and operational autonomy. This multiple programming plays, simultaneously, with the imbrication and the distinction with regard to the existing building and its specific image.

Part of the Bassins à Flot urban development plan, this operation contributes to the cohabitation of mixed-use blocks with preserved or new commercial buildings.

Designed in a live-in warehouse style, the 345 apartments are housed in two 10-metre deep buildings laid out in parallel either side of a shared covered garden. Both buildings are double aspect, facing east and west. Access is via four lobbies and passageways and gangways that cross the atrium.

New Ministry of Defense in Paris, France by ANMA

Friday, March 16th, 2018

Article source: ANMA

The new Ministry of Defence building  is a complex operation due to its dual urban and architectural nature. It is located on a 16.5-hectare site divided into three plots: the Victor plot to the east (8.5 hectares) is home to the Cité de l’Air, whose buildings have been either demolished or rehabilitated; the central Valin plot (8 hectares) is occupied by the ministry’s main building, and the western Corne Ouest plot is given over to a commercial real estate programme.

ANMA was tasked with coordinating the three plots, building the ministry’s main building (146,500 m²) and restructuring the Perret building on the Valin plot, as well as constructing two buildings on the Victor plot.

Courthouse in Limoges, France by ANMA

Wednesday, March 14th, 2018

Article source: ANMA

The district courts (TGI), instance and trade Limoges are now grouped in a new courthouse, which opened to the public in June 2016.

Located in downtown Winston-Churchill Square, it is close to the historic Palace of Aine Square, which retains the Court of Appeal, joined in June by the Regional Administrative Service (following the move from the TGI to the new building). Officials and magistrates of all the courts thus benefit from a modern and comfortable building, at the height of their missions and the expectations of the litigants.

Villa Kget in Ensuès-la-Redonne, France by Bonte & Migozzi

Sunday, March 11th, 2018

Article source: Bonte & Migozzi

Facing north south, with a triangular form, the land is of a small size (785m2), which is why the house plan is part of the administrative limits of the parcel’s removal. With its endemic plants – a vast majority of pines and agaves – , its low walls made of stones and its extraordinary mediterranean view, this protected place doesn’t have sanitation or possibilities of access for the construction site. Inhabited by mediterranean culture and grecque mythology, Christophe Migozzi revisits the primitive atmosphere of the cottage by reinterpreting a contemporary version of “Ulysse’s vessel that surfs on a slope like a crab trawler.”

Some phase 1 photographs, as a reminder

The Hellin-Sebbag office began work in 2004 on the Saint-Charles Hospital site at Montpellier.
Delivered in 2011, the first phase converted the general hospital into university buildings for graduates and researchers in the Faculty of Humanities, Paul Valéry University.

Patience and perseverance were necessary to restore new life to a site at this scale.
