70F architecture and Le Ville di Trevinano will soon start the build of an earth-sheltered boutique resort in one of Italy’s most beautiful areas. Underground building has not only energetic but also aesthetic benefits; the resort is hardly noticeable from the overlying hills.
International design and innovation office Carlo Ratti Associati has completed the transformation of the Agnelli Foundation’s landmark 20th-century building in Turin, Italy into an advanced Office 3.0 – an Appcontrolled structure which offers a glimpse of the workplace of the future. The renovated Agnelli Foundation headquarters, organized around a 3,000-square-meter (32,000-square foot) co-working space, will open today at the presence of John Elkann, vice-chairman of the Agnelli Foundation and chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Italian President Sergio Mattarella, FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg, and Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson.

LeapHome is an unprecedented architectural solution that will revolutionize the construction industry: a house that is entirely realized through an industrial process, that is simple and innovative and adapts to your specific needs and desires, which is rethinking the dwelling paradigms.
The connection is the focus: a continuous, equipped panel in raw iron and wood, thought as double wall, branches out into three spatial axes to thicken the consistency of one of the main building components. Value is conferred to the structure through additional panels that merge, loosen, huddle around, re-open and lastly extend; synchronous, inverted, alternate, they embody, unveil and gather the intimacy of this home: the panels are diaphanous to see, glimpse, conceal, discover, double: a wardrobe, an entrance, a hall, a large kitchen, a bookcase.
The project foresees the conversion of a workshop into an apartment with the intention to adequate the original installations to the requirements of a contemporary apartment. The environment, once a grain store, is characterized by a system of ribbed vaults leaning on granite pillars. From the main entrance access is granted to a distribution compartment from which to access the service, sleeping, and living areas. The sleeping area is characterized by regular volumes with marmorino warm colours finishing inserted on the existent bright white envelope, while the living area has been projected as ample open space to which the kitchen faces.
The House of Music of Pieve di Cento was born out of the desire to create structures and spaces suitable for two programs: concert promotion and musical teaching in the municipality: the Music Society of Pieve and a Middle School with musical emphasis.
