House of pertijs in Breda, The Netherlands by Concrete Architectural Associates

Friday, September 13th, 2013

Article source: Concrete Architectural Associates

‘House of Pertijs’ has its roots in a traditional family-owned watch and jewellery store in the Dutch city of Breda, where clients were treated more like friends than customers. To create more customer flow, the owner of the store came up with a new vision: nowadays luxury is not merely about watches and jewellery, but also about lifestyle and its related high-end products. Why not combine these different product groups in one store? The idea of a watch and jewellery concept store was born.

Article source: Wiel Arets Architects

The Anne van Bueren Square serves as the lobby for AvB Tower, where a hybrid programming of shops, lobby, restaurant, offices, lecture hall, and library – where the academic dweller finds a communicative atmosphere – when fluidly linked, can be seen as an extension of the ‘commuter-leisure’ concept currently emerging in the world’s major metropolises.

Article source: ADP Architects

The central building of the Corporate Campus Apeldoorn, designed by ADP Architects, is the conference centre. The whole building is set up to stimulate interaction and communication.

As working in a green environment is the main concept of the campus the landscape literally continues in to the entrance hall of the conference building, so nature and architecture melt together in the heart of the campus. Standing in the tall entrance hall you can see the restaurant, and the 25 conference rooms located on different floors. The restaurant, seating 750 people, is spread out over different levels gradually stepping down towards the forest outside.
