Campus Infobip in Zagreb, Croatia by Studio 3LHD

Monday, May 9th, 2022

Article source: Studio 3LHD

Infobip is a unicorn IT company based in Vodnjan, Istria, where it also built its first campus. The company’s rapid growth has spawned the need for a new hybrid building in Zagreb. Infobip is located on a plot on the southern edge of Zagreb, in a rurban zone bordering New Zagreb, directly next to the corridor of the newly planned avenue that will, once it is built, run along the southern edge of Zagreb. The zone is an entropic and poorly regulated area with low-rise medium-density multi-dwelling buildings lacking both an articulated public space and nature.

Urania in Zagreb, Hrvatska by 3LHD

Tuesday, May 19th, 2020

Article source: 3LHD

Urania Cinema/Theatre is one of numerous old cinema buildings built in the city of Zagreb in the early 20th century. Those cinemas were spread within the urban blocks across Zagreb’s Downtown. With the opening of new and modern multiplex theatres 20 years ago, the old Zagreb cinemas have gradually started to die out, and the buildings, neglected and empty, started to deteriorate.

Netherlands Embassy Office in Zagreb, Croatia by GEplus arhitekti

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019

Article source: GEplus arhitekti

In 2016 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Kingdom of The Netherlands has entrusted GE+ architects the process of developing a new philosophy of flexible work-space where employees are not strictly related to one.

The interior is dominated by a unique multi-functional central surface and carpet as a floor covering designed for the purpose of this project. Carpet’s role as visual media conveys new Dutch identity which makes it distance itself from the usual ones such as windmills, clogs and orange colour, and becomes recognizable through its coastal landscape. The carpet design carries a picture of a photograph of the Dutch coast – prophesying in diplomatic language about the natural wealth that connects both The Netherlands and Croatia.

Bužanova Apartments is a new housing block developed in cooperation with the client, VMD model. It is situated in the center of Zagreb, five minutes walking distance from Kvaternik Square, in a quiet street with an abundance of greenery, but within reach of the city bustle.

The architectural concept of the building is inspired by the pure form of Zagreb Lower Town blocks. With classic elegance and proportion of openings, the block consists of two volumes on the corner of two peaceful, urban green streets.

Educational Complex Kajzerica in Croatia by SANGRAD + AVP

Tuesday, July 10th, 2018

Article source: SANGRAD + AVP

The concept of the Cultural – Educational Complex in Kajzerica has been deducted from a contextual inspiration: by shifting the direction of the buildings from the street of the old Kajzerica Neighbourhood, we get a public area and an extension of the urban space under a green canopy. The lifted classroom volume slabs are outdoing the access to the school yard, opening transparency, lucidity, continuity and relations within the site, metaphorically substituting crowns and shadows of the trees, freeing the public space and rendering an artificial forest merged with the authentic green surface.

HOUSE B in Zagreb, Croatia by SODAarhitekti

Tuesday, September 12th, 2017

Article source: SODAarhitekti

Parcela The plot for the construction of a family house is situated on the slopes of Medvednica, in the northwestern part of the city. The terrain is an ideal south-facing slope. The house is located in the longitudinal west-east direction, in order to maximize the benefits od of the south orientation and to allow a view of the city from the entire house. It is designed with a simple gesture of pulling the upper floor volume in a relation to the ground floor volume. This formed two valuable outer spaces as a functional extension of interior of the house – the entrance to the parking lots, which covers the console to the west, and a terrace with a roof garden for parents in the east. Cantelevered space can be used as a covered dining terrace. The ground floor has a living room, dining room and kitchen, the upper floor consists of sleeping spaces, and the basement is the utilitarian floor. The organization of the house is done around the centrally placed two-storey living room, which is vertically connected with the upper floor gallery, with dining area and the kitchen on the same level and with the exterior through the large glass walls. Gallery serves as a horizontal connection between parental bedroom and children’s rooms and as a playroom. Large windows oriented to the south allow the decline of winter sun rays deep into the house and make passive heating possible. Duplex living room accumulates heat and distributes it to other areas of the house. In the summer, the house is protected from the sun with a pergola and movable blinds.
