I might be dating myself with this reference, but as soon as I hung up the phone from interviewing John Black of Lapis Design Partners – I immediately heard “Oh Yeah!!!” and the sound of the Kool-Aid pitcher crashing through a cinder block wall… Why? Well, because in his own words, Black has admitted to drinking the ArchiCAD Kool-Aid – and this is his story.
It all began for Black with ArchiCAD on version five. He told me he believes the best thing Autocad ever did was drop their Macintosh platform. Luckily for him, it happened just at the moment he began looking for a software program. Having been a Mac user, with no plans to change, he was ready to go from hand-drafting right into ArchiCAD.
