Munich, February 17, 2012: In 2011, Nemetschek AG, Europe's largest provider of software for architecture and construction, experienced double-digit growth once again: According to the provisional figures the group was able to increase revenues by 10 percent to 164 million euros. At almost 40 million, the operating result (EBITDA) once again reached a record level. The number of employees rose from 1076 to 1173 worldwide.

Nemetschek makes gains at home and abroad / more than 45 percent recurring business

In the group's foreign markets, revenues rose by 9 percent to 96 million euros. Nemetschek achieved significant increases in France, the USA and Japan, for example. Thanks to strong growth in the construction industry in Germany, domestic sales increased 11 percent to 68 million euros. Revenues from long-term maintenance agreements also rose by 11 percent to 74 million euros in total: Recurring revenues therefore now make up more than 45 percent of the group's earnings.

The Nemetschek Group was able to grow in the Design (software for architecture and engineering) and Multimedia (software for visualization) business units, in particular. In the Design unit, revenue rose 9 percent to 133 million euros; the EBITDA margin in this segment was 21 percent. Highliy profitable once again was the Build segment (solutions for ERP and project management): EBITDA margin was here at 35 percent with slightly rosen revenues.

"The group has had a very successful year," says Tim Alexander Lüdke, CEO of Nemetschek AG. "This is primarily due to Nemetschek's global brands in the Design and Multimedia business units."

Record year for Maxon / Multimedia subsidiary profits from the ever broader media offering

The Multimedia business unit achieved record results: Friedrichsdorf Nemetschek subsidiary Maxon is behind this, with its visualization and animation software for architecture, film and advertising, which is sold in 80 countries around the world. This business unit increased its revenues by 26 percent to almost 14 million euros, and at 44 percent, the operating margin also hit a record level. Maxon's success is due to a more streamlined and better positioned product range and the introduction of maintenance agreements.

“We are profiting from the ever broader media offering. More and more television channels via satellite or cable and the online offering of the broadcasting stations result in an ever increasing demand for our software solutions," says Harald Egel, one of the founders and managing director of Maxon. "Last year we attracted worldwide renowned broadcasting stations such as Sky in Italy, Al Jazeera in Qatar and Nickelodeon in England as customers.

Net income higher than expected / earnings per share at 2.16 euros  At 24 percent, the group's EBITDA margin was exactly at the forecast level. Operating costs rose from 126 to 139 million euros, mainly due to higher personnel expenses and an increase in sales-dependent costs such as dealer commissions. As a result of a one-time tax revenue of 1.4 million euros, the 2011 net earnings were even higher than expected, more than 22 million euros. As a result, the earnings per share rose to 2.16 euros.   Nemetschek will publish the complete 2011 annual report on March 30, 2012; management will also take this opportunity to provide an outlook for the current financial year.
