2016 Pritzker Prize Laureate, Alejandro Aravena
Apr 1, 2016 -- The Pritzker Architecture Prize (considered the “Nobel of Architecture”) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDGF) will organize a press conference with the new 2016 Pritzker laureate, Alejandro Aravena. Mr. Aravena will share his view in social housing, public spaces and the role of architecture in the Sustainable Development Goals era.

OPEN DIALOGUE ‘CHALLENGES AHEAD FOR THE BUILT ENVIRNOMENT’, at 6:30pm in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.
2016 Pritzker PrizeAlejandro Aravena, joined by previous laureates Glenn Murcutt, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, Wang Shu, Thom Mayne, Richard Meier, Jean Nouvel and Christian de Portzamparc, will have an in depth conversation about how architecture can be an engine of sustainable development. What is the role of architecture in building cities that are more sustainable and livable? How can we ensure access to adequate, safe and affordable housing for all? Can architecture promote social equality? These and other questions will be the topic of this open dialogue.
