Newton, MA – October 31, 2006 – Patrick Mays, AIA, has joined Graphisoft as vice president and general manager reporting to Dominic Gallello, CEO of Graphisoft. He will be working with a highly skilled network of resellers and consultants who have been implementing model-based design solutions for over a decade. During his career, Mays has helped several firms with the transition from 2D design and 3D visualization to building information modeling (BIM).

Mays brings to Graphisoft over 25 years of experience in design and construction. He has supported design technologies at Backen Arrigoni & Ross, HOK and NBBJ in San Francisco and Seattle. He has extensive experience in construction administration and has been a registered architect in California since 1990. As the building construction industry moves to a process like the integrated supply chain of manufacturing, these skills will be critical.

Mays is the author of Construction Administration, An Architect's Guide to Surviving Information Overload, published by John Wiley & Sons. He also contributed chapters on Information Management and Contract Administration in the Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice, published by the American Institute of Architects. "Patrick comes to Graphisoft with a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable in helping our customers make the transition from traditional work methods to BIM,” said Dominic Gallello, CEO of Graphisoft. "Patrick's passion for helping firms implement technology and change processes should serve our current and future clients very well.”

"Virtual Building modeling offers a better approach to building design,” said Patrick Mays. "Archicad and Graphisoft are at the forefront of this industry. I am excited to be joining the company and look forward to leading industry professionals through the necessary process changes that will help make them more competitive and successful in the market.”
