Zweig White’s Hot Firm 2007 list is compiled from firms that were in business as of January 1, 2003 and had gross revenues of at least $1 million dollars. Firms were comprised of all sizes and types including architecture, engineering, environmental, multi-discipline and more. To ensure that both small and large firms were given the opportunity to make the list, the firm’s dollar growth and percentage growth were weighted equally. Each firm was assigned a dollar ranking and a percentage ranking, and then those two scores were combined for a total score. The firm’s that made the list were able to double or even triple their gross revenue from 2003 to 2006 despite the unstable A/E economy. The firms on the list achieved revenues ranging from $2.6 million to $900 million for 2006.
