Awards

Raleigh-based VectorWorks user Clearscapes, PA, has been named the 2007 AIA North Carolina Firm of the Year, the highest honor the chapter bestows upon a firm. Each year, this award honors a North Carolina firm that has an established presence in the state and has consistently produced quality architecture, with a verifiable level of client satisfaction, for a period of at least ten years.

Autodesk, Inc. announced that Rutherford & Chekene (R&C), a San Francisco-based structural and geotechnical engineering firm, has been awarded a Revit BIM Experience Award for its innovative use of building information modeling (BIM) to promote integration and collaboration across the extended building team. For more than two years, R&C has used Revit Structure software for design and collaborate on large technical institutional projects. Through its use of BIM, R&C is more efficiently and effectively coordinating designs and improving visualization, analysis and documentation. This close collaboration helps the team identify issues early in the design phase.

Primavera Systems, Inc. announced the immediate availability of Primavera ProSight (version 7.0), which enables executives and managers to analyze, modify and reprioritize portfolios of IT and other strategic investments quickly and effectively in response to rapidly changing business strategies.

Event 1 Software, Inc. ( Event 1) the Vancouver, WA based creators of Office Connector for Sage Timberline Office and Microsoft Excel, unveiled its latest product in the Office Connector line, Office Connector Import for Sage Timberline Office.

WennSoft, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, has released Project Management Portal, a brand new product allowing organizations to manage documents and projects from one central location, built on the Microsoft SharePoint platform. Built on the premise of simplistic usability, the product routes custom workflows and keeps project managers updated on project status, tasks, and critical dates – including vendors – allowing them to identify issues before they become problems.

Trimble announced that it will demonstrate its new Trimble Connected Community, a Web-based set of networking tools for heavy and highway construction contractors to connect with internal and external partners and clients. As part of the Trimble Connected Site(TM) portfolio of construction solutions, the Trimble Connected Community allows contractors to build information portals, share information and collaborate between head office management, site office teams, field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and clients on a project.

The seminar is titled "From CAD to Collaborative Plant Modelling", which could more or less be translated as follows: The process of efficient cooperation of different disciplines to concurrently design a process plant.

We will start the afternoon with a presentation on this subject and subsequently a lively and interesting discussion about "Collaborative Plant Modelling". Part of the afternoon will be dedicated to demonstrate the highlights of Plant-4D, both by us and by a client.
