Construction Management Software Makes It Easier to Access RFIs and ASIs Online and Offline

(Summary) A new Auto-PDF™ feature automatically converts the latest online construction data (e.g., RFIs, ASIs, submittals and change order requests) to downloadable PDF files, increasing convenience and enhancing security for architects, contractors, owners and developers. Construction Communicator is the only construction management software with this capability, which simplifies offline retrieval, archiving and searches.

Fremont, California, February 11, 2009 – Construction Communicator™ ( http://www.constructioncommunicator.com) is the only construction management software that can automatically convert online contract administration data into PDF files, increasing convenience and security. This makes it easier for users to search, access and archive contract administration "paperwork" offline as well as online.

Construction Communicator is designed for building owners, contractors, architects and engineers who handle between 100 and 2,000 or more contract administration records on a typical project.

This Web-based construction collaboration software helps the construction team manage Requests for Information (RFIs), shop drawing submittals, Architect's Supplemental Instructions (ASIs), change order requests (CORs), Contractor Payment Applications (G702/G703) and similar communications that affect the day-to-day progress of the job.

With the new Auto-PDF feature, architects, contractors and engineers can download contract administration records in a PDF file format. This is particularly valuable when traveling, when an Internet connection is not available or when it is more convenient to send an attachment by e-mail than to go online. PDF files are available for open and closed RFIs, CORs, ASIs, submittals or other forms created with the online Construction Communicator software.

The PDF documents include links to any file attachments, which can be opened from within the PDF. The online construction management software updates the online PDFs of open documents as new information (e.g., a comment from a design consultant) is added, or when a contract administration document is closed out.

At the completion of the project, the PDFs are stored on an archival DVD. Logs on the DVD link to the individual RFIs, ASIs, submittals and CORs. This simplifies searching archives, a process that can be cumbersome with large databases, multiple spreadsheets or file attachments. More information about the PDF feature is available at http://www.constructioncommunicator.com/features-and-benefits.html

"This feature gives users the best of both worlds: the 24/7 availability of Internet data access and the security of storing information on a local computer," said Richard Sampson, president of Richard Sampson Associates, developers of Construction Communicator.

Pricing

The Auto-PDF feature is an optional add-on for Construction Communicator, which is available for 30 days without charge or obligation. Pricing for the subscription software is based on the number of users and the number of required features such as RFIs, submittals, change order requests or ASIs. Charges cover licensing, maintenance, technical support, upgrades and Internet hosting.
