The Plant Sales application within Materials Management is designed to interface with the industry’s most popular scale ticketing systems. Working with the eCMS Order Processing System, the application easily manages the flow of customer, department, and job orders. The system captures data on hired vehicles, to create the hauler invoices in Accounts Payable, generates order releases, and manages customer invoicing. It supports user setup information such as zone haul rates, wait-time rates, and pricing by a number of contract variables giving users maximum flexibility. It works for both asphalt plants and concrete plants and can be configured to support a wide variety of material plants.
Among the significant enhancements, the application allows users to create customer quotes in the system and convert these into contracts. It is more closely integrated with eCMS 3.7 Purchasing and Accounts Payable to better manage internal and external hauls. It also allows sales and inventory to be managed in different units of measurement, including imperial/metric and gallons/ounces.
The Bill of Material application provides the ability to setup and track mix design. Once it is established, the system enables users to easily control / track the use of raw materials and finished product through the production and delivery cycles of a project. The Price Index function automates the pricing of paving material by recording the fluctuations of liquid asphalt. The Price Index tables will automatically re-price orders and deliverables, eliminating the need to manually track and adjust individual orders and contracts.
Moreover, unlike standalone applications, the enhanced Materials Management application is one of 30 unified applications that are part of the Computer Guidance eCMS 3.7 software suite. The result of over 7,000 hours of development, eCMS 3.7 offers over 200 new features. Now, eCMS 3.7 provides improved monitoring and analysis of not only financial, but also operating performance, with advanced functions for tracking subcontractor performance, document compliance and contract management.
“As part of our eCMS software suite, our enhanced Materials Management application performs more automated functions, with greater flexibility than ever before,” said Roger Kirk, President/CEO, Computer Guidance Corporation. “The new features help heavy highway contractors improve their efficiency, productivity and, ultimately, profitability.”
