BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 23, 2009 Quest Software, Inc., (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced the newest version of Quest Web Parts for SharePoint. This essential productivity solution streamlines and simplifies the application development process by providing the ability to customize and build more robust SharePoint ® sites, applications, menus and dashboards through configuration rather than code.

“Customizing SharePoint often requires complex coding for seemingly simple tasks,” said David Waugh, vice president and general manager of Unified Communications and Collaboration, Quest Software. “Quest Web Parts for SharePoint removes the core challenges of code creation so that both developers and non-developers are more efficient and SharePoint sites are more powerful.”

With its one-of-a kind integrated ezEdit Configuration Interface, Quest Web Parts for SharePoint radically simplifies SharePoint web part configuration by accelerating tedious tasks and simplifying the sometimes confusing coding process. This high-performance interface reduces the time and cost required to build applications, making Quest the only vendor in the SharePoint space to offer this kind of configuration tool. In addition, the latest version also includes a new DiscussionView web part that improves the ability to easily follow and track discussions, as well as dramatically improved charting functionality.

“Quest Web Parts for SharePoint enabled us to use a single suite of tools that allowed for integration, visual customizations and real application development, all within the browser,” said Stephen Alderman, IM technology architect, Redland Shire Council. “The program is flexible and allows us to create real enterprise MOSS applications directly in the browser without custom code.”

Demonstrations of Quest Web Parts for SharePoint are available at The SharePoint Technology Conference in Boston today through June 24, in booth 109. Quest SharePoint expert Mike Watson is a featured speaker at the event (1:30 p.m. EDT, June 22; 1:45 p.m. EDT, June 23; and 8:30 a.m. EDT, June 24).
