CURT Announces Annual Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Awards

CINCINNATI — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 18, 2009 — The Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) presented its annual Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Awards during a gala last night at its National Construction Owners Conference being held November 16-18, 2009 at The Buena Vista Palace Hotel in Orlando, FL.

CURT is an association of leading corporations and government organizations in the U.S. and Canada dedicated to the promotion of cost effective construction methods. Collectively, the members of CURT spend more than $160 billion annually on construction services.

During the event CURT called upon the Construction Industry to continue its progress in promoting construction site safety across the U.S., Canada and the rest of the world. As one of its core initiatives, CURT is committed to working towards continued improvement in safety performance in the Construction Industry.

General Building Contractors (NAICS Code 236):

  • Bancroft Construction Company, 500,000 to 2,000,000 man hours/year

Heavy Construction Contractors (NAICS Code 237):

  • Teton Industrial Construction, Inc. a PCL Company, 500,000 to 2,000,000 man hours/year
  • S&B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd., Over 2,000,000 man hours/year

Special Trade Contractors (NAICS Code 238):

  • Canyon Concrete, Inc. up to 500,000 man hours/year (Honorable mention)
  • Nooter Construction Company, 500,000 to 2,000,000 man hours/year
  • IES Industrial Inc., 500,000 to 200,000 man hours/year

Encouraging owners and contractors to adopt the principles outlined in the newly released CURT publication, “The Construction Owners’ Safety Blueprint,” further demonstrates CURT’s commitment to promoting a safer construction industry. “Safety improvement will continue to be a key deliverable and core value for CURT and its member firms.
