"As a company focused on the complex product of turbomachinery design, we wanted to concentrate our efforts there rather than to deflect resources toward graphics development. At the same time, we wanted to deliver a solution to our customers with high-performance graphics and rich interactivity. The HOOPS 3D Application Framework enabled us to achieve both goals," stated Peter Weitzman, Director of Software Sales & Marketing for Concepts NREC.
Ron Fritz, Managing Partner for TSA added, "Concepts NREC continues to produce rich applications for tubomachinery design and analysis and we are pleased that HOOPS is playing a key role in helping the Concepts team produce winning applications and focus on their true value-add."
About CAD Translator
CAD Translator greatly simplifies the transfer of 3D CAD geometry between all of the major CAD systems and the Concepts NREC Agile Engineering Design System for Turbomachinery. A CAD model for a turbomachine will typically contain the blading and flowpath needed by the Agile system, but also can contain the housing, shaft, bearings, seals, and any other parts and assemblies associated with the machine. The CAD translator allows the user to identify the components of the CAD model that are associated with the blading and flowpath and seamlessly convert these geometric entities into the format needed for easy import into the Concepts NREC design and manufacturing software.
About HOOPS 3D Application Framework
HOOPS 3D Application Framework (HOOPS/3dAF) is an extensible, high-level component that dramatically simplifies the design, development and maintenance of high-performance, interactive 2D/3D applications for Windows, UNIX, LINUX, Windows CE devices or the Web. Companies such as PTC, SolidWorks, MSC.Software, Fluent, Autodesk/CAiCE, Bentley/Infrasoft, CADKEY, Proficiency and over 150 others license HOOPS technology to help them build better engineering software products faster.
With HOOPS/3dAF the base infrastructure for building highly-custom, high performance applications is already optimally designed and built. Developers work from a high level to extend and customize the framework, taking advantage of the power of the underlying set of components and, rather than attempting to re-invent the vast functionality already encapsulated within the HOOPS product set, they can focus their development efforts on their true value-add.
