Axomic, a leading provider of digital asset management solutions for architects, has announced the latest version of it flagship browser-based image library software OpenAsset. Version 2.1 of the software offers significant productivity benefits and reduced management costs through the introduction of Batch Upload, Batch Update and a Saved Albums facility.
OpenAsset is designed to solve the digital asset management issues faced by project-driven organisations like architectural practices. OpenAsset assumes the responsibility for managing libraries of images and other digital assets associated with architectural projects. Images are searched for via a standard web browser interface and can be collected for output and converted to the appropriate formats and resolutions for use in various applications. The software improves workflow by opening up digital assets to everyone in the company and boosts productivity by reducing time spent searching for and re-formatting images.
In OpenAsset 2.1 cataloguing and searching digital assets has been made even simpler with the addition of Batch Upload, Batch Update and an improved graphical user interface which allows users to customise the number of search results returned.
Batch Upload enables users to upload multiple images from a single folder into the OpenAsset workspace. In the workspace users can tag multiple images with common attributes before they are actually entered into the database. Once in the system it is possible to apply keywords to multiple images and create searchable subsets of data using the Batch Update feature.
Also new in OpenAsset 2.1 is the Saved Albums feature. This allows users to save searches as a user-specific list of albums, which can be referred to at a later date or shared either internally or with external users via a secure login.
“Saved Albums is a great new feature in OpenAsset that allows users to go back and remember the results of searches they’ve performed before,” comments Daniel Emmerson, co-founder and business development director of Axomic. “All of these new features have been developed as a result of customer demand and mean that users can now import and search images more efficiently making them more productive and resulting in considerable time-savings. We see these new feature as being universally advantageous to our clients.”
Axomic clients and users of the OpenAsset system include Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects, Wilkinson Eyre and Assael Architecture.
