Advantica Stoner Announces Gas Version 3.3 Releases
Over 50 enhancements power new SynerGEE release
CARLISLE, Pa. (Jan. 28, 2002) Advantica Stoner recently announced the release of SynerGEE Gas 3.3, providing many new capabilities and engine additions.
"The engineering team at Allegheny Power is looking forward to the new functionality and enhancement this newest version has to offer," said Tom Richards, a network analysis engineer for Allegheny Power in Charleston, W.Va. "SynerGEE Gas has performed well and is a valuable asset for management and decision support."
Strengthening the way Advantica Stoner clients work with natural gas systems, the more than 50 new features reinforce the modeling capabilities that SynerGEE currently offers, while expanding to include much anticipated enhancements such as undelete. With undelete, users can restore the element, or groups of up to 100 elements, removed by the last delete command.
SynerGEE also includes the three new compressor engine types: a multi-stage reciprocating (RN), Ariel multi-stage reciprocating (AN), and an Ariel screw-type (AS) compressor engine. In addition, engine-cooling options have also been expanded.
SynerGEE version 3.3 allows users to switch selection priority from node to element to aid in picking elements from a highly detailed schematic. Also, users can now export a model to an AutoCAD DXF file or save the model as a workspace that includes all the settings and zoom extents, with the model. SynerGEE Gas 3.3 extends the flexibility users have to add annotations on a model with lengthy model notes and leader lines.
Other enhancements to SynerGEE 3.3 include forward and back buttons that allow easy navigation from one schematic view to another, the ability to select multiple pipes and join them together, and a simpler method of loading SynerGEE calculations from the Load Generator. Additionally, the new parallel elements symbol allows users to identify parallel elements in situations where there may be multiple elements between the same from-node and to-node.
SynerGEE users who also use the Stoner Pipeline Simulator (SPS) to simulate natural gas systems can take advantage of the graphical model building capabilities now available in SynerGEE to build an SPS model. Model data and steady-state results can now be saved from SynerGEE and opened in SPS to facilitate steady-state initialization.
In combination with MiddleLink Gas 3.3, users can build models from a variety of sources, such as geographic information systems (GIS), relational database management systems (RDBMS), or tabular data files, then apply these models in SynerGEE Gas 3.3 for analysis purposes.
