SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Dec 09, 2009 -- Continuing to change the way teams collect data and collaborate, Adapx ( today announced the availability of Capturx™ for Microsoft® Office OneNote® 2.0. Teams simply write in Capturx notebooks or on blank printed pages with digital pens. All the information is automatically integrated into OneNote -- where it is backed up, searchable, and sharable in email or other Microsoft Office applications.

"Capturx for OneNote has been tremendously successful with helping mobile workers reliably capture and share notes written in the all-weather Rite in the Rain® notebooks," said Ken Schneider, president and CEO of Adapx. A broad range of industries and agencies, including construction, military, government, healthcare, and utilities, rely on Capturx to automate paperwork without missing documents, struggling with mobile computers, or waiting and paying for data to be scanned or retyped.

How it Works

Capturx for OneNote automatically integrates handwritten notes and sketches written with digital pens into Microsoft OneNote. Teams simply write in Capturx notebooks or on printed sheets with digital pens, which write with normal ink. When the pen is connected to a PC, the handwritten notes and sketches are automatically integrated into OneNote. The pens can store up to 50 pages of handwriting at a time.

With new larger notebooks and print-your-own-notebook capabilities, Capturx for OneNote 2.0 makes it even easier to:

-- Keep Organized. All notes are automatically backed up, centralized,
and easy to access in OneNote. Each page in the paper notebook corresponds
to a page in the digital notebook. Notes and pages can be easily
-- Quickly Search and Find Notes. Handwriting becomes searchable in
OneNote, which automatically uses powerful character recognition to create
a searchable index. Simply type a word and find every place where it's
    written across notebooks.
-- Share Notes through Microsoft Office. Sketches and handwriting can be
copied and pasted in email or for use in other Microsoft Office files.
Handwriting can be converted to digital text or left in the original ink
strokes. Notebooks can also be shared on networks to improve
    collaboration, decisions, and record keeping.

The Capturx line of products for Microsoft Office includes Capturx Forms for Excel® and SharePoint® Server, which enable teams to easily collect structured data using digital pens on ordinary paper. Information written on paper becomes immediately available in Office in the original handwriting and as converted digital text and data tables.

Capturx for Microsoft Office OneNote 2.0 is available today. System requirements include Microsoft Office OneNote 2007, and either 32-bit Windows Vista or Windows 7. Optional notebook printing requires a 4-color PostScript laser printer. Coming soon, Capturx will support 64-bit Windows Operating Systems.
