Meridian Systems Announces New Independent Software Vendor Relationship with BuildSite
Prolog users can accelerate the submittals process by directly linking to data from building product manufacturers

FOLSOM, Calif. (March 30, 2010) - Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, today announced a new Independent Software Vendor (ISV) relationship with BuildSite, a single source of product, technical, procurement, and green building product information for the construction industry. BuildSite also provides software that allows the creation of fully electronic project submittals to be tied directly to construction specifications.

"Submittals play a critical role in every construction project as they confirm the builder has met the designer's intent, said Ned Trainor, president of BuildSite. "However, they can be a time-intensive task for the entire project team. Integration between PrologĀ® software and BuildSite saves everyone time and lets product data flow easily into the design model."

BuildSite Submittals easily integrate with Prolog project management software. Meridian Prolog uses can accelerate the submittal process by linking to required construction product data from BuildSite's comprehensive database of product and technical information. This database houses more than 20,000 products from more than 350 manufacturers; this information can be linked directly into Prolog's submittal register. The result is a complete submittal package in electronic form that automatically flows directly into Prolog construction project management software.

For example, by eliminating paper submittals, subcontractors, general contractors, architects, and engineers can save time in the submittal generation, logging, and approval process. With submittals accessible via a URL, or integrated into the Prolog Submittal Register, architects can concentrate on exceptions, not standard products, resulting in a faster approval process. In addition, submittals and associated operations and maintenance manuals can be made part of a permanent electronic project record, which can also save time throughout the building life cycle.

"The submittals process is mired in paper and requires redundant data entry, ultimately wasting time, money and paper," said Bruno Berti, senior director of product management, Meridian Systems. "Prolog and BuildSite together combine best-in-class project management software with a single source of building product information."

Prolog software is the industry standard for construction project control and transparency and delivers total project management control for construction projects by automating day-to-day tasks and processes, from project design to close-out.
